Best Madden and Why ?

Next gen 21 gets the nod. It has the heavy/organic field play akin to the PS2 era titles with the addition of a next gen look, definitely a thing of beauty. Also, I'm confused about where this protest about animations is coming from. Any up to date football game worth its salt needs them to represent the aesthetics of what you see on a football field.

Madden 05 was one of best ever...

It also had the best franchise/owner mode ever created

From the Tony Bruno Show to the playable EA College Scouting Game where you could scout & play with the incoming class including imported classes.. to restricted free agency to Training Camp & player Moral System to the awesome Coaching Cuarsle & Relocation Features that also allowed you to keep the current teams logos on new uniforms..

That was the good ol days where I actually enjoyed playing 30 seasons of franchise mode....

I'm really hoping we see the return of 95% of these features in madden some day.. would seriously make Franchise the must play & most played mode again

Sadly though there may never be another great game like madden 05 with its robust franchise mode..

I hope I'm wrong but time will eventually tell.....

The next one. Why? Because I haven't played it yet so I can imagine it lives up to the hype for once.

In all seriousness, it would be around the 05-08 days on the PS2. Not everything in the game worked perfectly, but it was full of depth, had fun gameplay, and I could waste time playing season after season. I could sit there and get through a couple of seasons in one weekend. Nowadays I only got through 4+ seasons in 22 and it felt like a chore at times, so I stopped.
