Re: Day 1 Purchase or No?

Absolutely 100% a day one buy if you're a football fan. After 40 hours with the PS5 beta I preorder the All-Madden edition for PS5, which thanks to the beta 10% and EA Play 10% was about $80 (normally $99)

Go read my beta impressions if you want to know what I think, I just posted them in the beta thread.

FOLKS, THIS IS A DAY ONE PURCHASE

At default penalty settings I think the penalties are absolutely perfect..you get holding, pass interference and other penalties enough to feel realistic but not enough to get really annoying (like the real NFL).

Buy or not buy is your choice but don't base it on the lack of penalties because that's not an issue, at least not on the PS5

No, not buying. Not even with a deep discount.

How many total penalties on average were you seeing between both teams. Very curious.

On Madden 22 it was simply non existent.

On 21 it was good. Not Madden 16 good but good.

For some of us penalties are a huge part of football and can change games…and all of the competitive online Madden players frown on that. And I get it. But for some offline players we like penalties, injuries, etc.

I love Madden football….felt 21 was a great launching point….loved 22 OOTB.

Will keep my tabs on 23 and see what happens.

Love your perspective on sliders and realism Armor. Will wait to see if you jump on 23 and release a set

There are VERY few penalties in the beta. The most I have had in a game was 6 total, 4 on the CPU and 2 on me. Most games were 4 less total. That was with the penalty sliders at 95.

Now on M22 I was able to increase penalties some by making all defensive players and all offensive lineman have the undisciplined trait. It still was not enough, but better than without it.

I left the injury slider at default and saw a decent amount of injuries in the games I played. Some were out for a few plays and some out for the game. I did not keep track and did not play many games in franchise mode.

QB injuries in franchise mode still seem to be non-existent, at least in simmed games.
