Re: Breaking Down Sliders... How They Really Work

I played another game against the vikings to see how the run game would pan out. Early on it seemed almost too easy to run with the Bengals but later in the game when I wanted to run clock they were stuffing Benson pretty well. After these two games I feel the cpu RB is not dangerous enough. Peterson busted off one long one but he didn't even have to break any tackles because I just hit sticked early. I think I might just bump up cpu ability a bit because in Bills last set the cpu RB seemed very dangerous if you didn't key in on him. here are the stats

Code:
Bengals 24
Vikings 21

           Comp Att Yds TD Int
Palmer 20 31 214 1 2
Jackson 14 27 172 1 2

             Att Yds Avg TD Btk
Benson 29 99 3.4 2 2
Peterson 15 102 6.8 2 0
Both teams had 2 drops each

Vikings had 2 Pancakes
Bengals had 0

Vikings had 1 sack
Bengals had 3 sacks (two were on T Jack scrambles)

Greenway was the lead tackler with 8

Other then the CPU running game which I am still working on a bit it seems as though they worked out pretty well, yes?

My advice is to give up and never buy another Madden game again. You will never get 'realistic' sliders because the engine is broken. You may get realistic stats, but that's never as important as realistic gameplay (imo). I traded my Madden already and I'm back playing All Pro Football 2k8, which isn't perfect, but is as close as it gets.

good for you

and a post like that provides so much to me and this thread because as an adult i'm incapable of forming opinions and making decisions for myself... so thank you very much for showing me the light I would have otherwise never been able to see

Re: Breaking Down Sliders... How They Really Work

I must say bill at the very least you have provided a means to get realistic football out of an EA Sports title and for that I thank you.

With that said here are the stats from my latest game using my latest slider set which can be found here: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...s-sliders.html

Code:
Box Score:

		1st	2nd	3rd	4th	Tot
Vikings 0	9	7	7	23
Panthers (Me)	0	10	3	14	27

Team Stats:

Vikings Panthers (Me)
23 Score 27
372 Total Off	370
113 Rushing Yds	106
259 Passing Yds	264
17 First Downs	19
13 PR Yds 50
126 KR Yds 155
1 Turnovers	1
5-12 (41%)	3rd Down Conv	8-15 (53%)
4-4 (100%)	Redzone 3-3 (100%)
1 Redzone TD	2
3 Redzone FG	1
4-38 Penalties	6-75
27:55 Possession Time	32:05

Passing:

Player Team	Rating	Comp Att	Yds	Comp%	TD	INT
Jake Delhomme CAR	95.0	22	39	270	56	2	0

Brett Farve MIN	92.8	24	33	259	72	1	1

Rushing:

Player Team	Att	Yds	Avg	TD
DeAngelo Williams	CAR	27	103	3.8	1
Johnathan Stewart	CAR	1	5	5.0	0

Adrian Peterson MIN	21	96	4.5	1
Chester Taylor MIN	5	17	3.4	0

Recieving:

Player Team	Rec	Yds	Avg	TD
Steve Smith CAR	8	121	15.1	1
Jeff King CAR	7	63	9.0	0
Mushin Muhammad CAR	5	72	14.4	1

Bobby Wade MIN	6	109	18.1	1
Adrian Peterson MIN	5	34	6.8	0
Bernard Barrian MIN	2	27	13.5	0
The biggest thing that I feel that needs to be worked on is the fatigue sliders...I didn't have the crazy subsitutions in the second half but I don't feel like my running backs subbed enough. That could also be because I was forced to throw the ball a lot more than my liking due to Minny's defense.

Yeah games seem to be going very well. It's a pretty good balance and i've seen cpu qbs have bad games. Blitzes seem to be much more effective, partly because bringing the game speed up and bringing the slider up. I still think it might need a little more boost. I expected the Vikings to demolish the Bengals Oline but they did not.

I think the problem with blitzing is play design and linebacker movement before the snap putting them further out of position. I know when I run my blitz setups I am able to get to the quarterback extremely fast. The only problem there is the QB just unloading the ball.

Re: Breaking Down Sliders... How They Really Work

I meant the blitz comment as a compliment. With your sliders it feels much better. One weird thing that always seems to help my passing game is that it seems like the cpu brings the house atleast twice every game. I always have some kinda check down so it's very easy to get big yardage on these blitzes but with you sliders they seemed to get through a little faster. This is one more reason I am thinking about lowering the wr catch for humans atleast. I should get a chance to play a game or two tonight when I get out of work
