I took into account your statement about suction blocking and what higher adjustments trigger certain animations. Alot of my settings are under 10 for both Human and CPU. Running was a little difficult, it probably would of looked better but Westbrook and B. Jacobs disappeared in the fourth quarter for unknown reasons. But up until my auto subs started acting up the game played great. Pressure was greatly improved (which both of these teams are from the NFC Beast, so you know how we get down, lol) Blitzes seem to feel like blitzes, the OL didn't always pick them up from both sides. A couple of instances Eli had all day to throw (I timed during replay six seconds, which can happen with a O-line like the NEW JERSEY GIANTS have.) The first game was a OT victory by me 37-34. Even with the high score you felt the points were earned (except one when Hanson lined up with Hixon and Hixon burned him for a 80yd TD). Rushing in that game before the Houdini HB's was also realistic. I was going into the game with the mindset of shutting down the run. I held Jacobs to 65yds on 19att, but he was most certainly wearing my D down he probably would of ended up with 100yd game or close to that total, not to forget he still had like 6 Broken Tackles (he's a big dude!!) so they were alot of gang tackles on him. They totally shut Westbrook down with 19att for 46yds (alot of plays I ran right into a blitz) but McCoy got into a small grove and had 11att for 52yds. Oh and yeah I led that game 20-0 at the end of the first quarter, lol. My last game of the night the G**-men came out rolling on all cylinders. They jumped out to early 17-0 lead mainly because of two early TO's. Nothing made me feel like the CPU cheated, amazingly. I regrouped in the 2nd quarter and got on the board with two FG's and trailed at the half 24-6. I came out blazing in the 2nd half (great speech by Andy, lol) and scored to cut into the lead. The rest of the 3rd was a Defensive showcase as my TD would be the only points of the quarter. After a 3 and out by the Giants I took the O on another long scoring drive to cut the lead to 24-20 with 6 mins to go. Then Eli started getting "lucky." He drove them down the field and kicked a FG to go up by seven with 2min to go. Then something strange happened on my next possesion. WESTBROOK came back in!! After two huge 3rd down coversions, I sat on their 27 with 28 seconds left with two TO's. I decide to make them play honest and call a run, but guess what I see?? Westbrook is no longer there. I waste a TO to try to get him back, no go he's in the locker room seeing if Jeff Lurie spelled his name right on his check this week!! After to unsuccessful plays I sit 3rd and 10 from the 27 with no TO's (injury to Weaver). I call a streak to Maclin, he beats his man with ease, I pumpfake safety goes for it, I lob it to Mac, he has a hand on it, I've beaten the Giants again, it wasn't meant to be, HE DROPS IT IN THE ENDZONE WITH NO TIME ON THE CLOCK!! Wow!!

But I've said all that to point out I've had really great games with your analysis on how sliders work and once I find a solution to auto subs I will post my slider set and just letting you know I'll acknowledge your hard work because this is some good ish you have figured out dude!

Re: Breaking Down Sliders... How They Really Work

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you guys for all the hard work and research on these sliders. How you have managed to turn Madden into a realistic game is by far a great accomplishment. I have played some really awesome games with the early draft versions. Cant wait for the final cut! Thanks again guys!!

I am curious if anyone has figured out how pass reaction speed slider works. It doesn't seem like an awareness slider but with so much AI variation from game to game it is hard for me to tell.

Re: Breaking Down Sliders... How They Really Work

I had a pretty good set of sliders for play now, but they definitely dont translate over to franchise mode right

animation triggers are all different... ex: with human run block as low as I had it (I think maybe 8), its practically impossible to block anyone when they're moving... they just do that stupid "miss block" animation where the blocker goes down by the defenders waist and the defender just kind of slips by

I had a very good balance on play now, but its basically like starting from scratch for franchise, and on top of that its a hassle to keep on going into franchise to test them... and its much harder to actually test them because the environment isnt controlled (I cant run the same offense and defensive play over and over again and isolate one slider and adjust till I hit the right balance)

so needless to say i'm annoyed right now... no reason why the sliders should work differently in play now and franchise

That was a issue that I had with your sliders in the beginning. I was like "Are they seeing the same thing I'm seeing?". It didn't dawn on me that some of the differences were because I was playing in Franchise mode.
