I was rushing Jamal a lot...grinding the ball out. I had about 30 yards on the opening drive and then punted it away. They scored pretty handily on me (the Galloway TD was against me), and then I ran the kickoff back. That was when I stopped playing.

I was definitely happy to see Dunn in there while I was playing.

4) Bucs dont allow alot of deep stuff (Cover 2 = slow death). Did Anderson try anything deep?
Not sure...didn't really the game after I set the controller down.

5) what is full snow? is their partial snow?
There are two options on the menu into game, "Snowy" and "Heavy Snow"

6) Is accel clock in? ( i can feel the flame posts as i type this)
No not in the shipping version. We are still researching ways of getting this out post-ship. I wish I had an update but I don't yet.

7) how quickly does the CPU snap the ball when on offense?
Seemed ok to me, I had time to adjust...but I could be used to it. I don't want to say one way or the other.

Hello Ian,

Looking at the numbers again I am very concerned about the low Yards Per Attempt (YPA) in Madden 09. I hope you can take my suggestions and implement changes in the game.

Garcia: 24/42 (57%), 186 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Anderson: 16/25 (64%), 124 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT

Garcia has an average of 4.42 YPA while Anderson had 4.96. Now the percentages look pretty good so it's not that there were too many incompletions that bring down the average. Garcia isn't known to kill you deep but to have only 186 yards on 42 attempts is just outrageous.

The problem is that there are not enough passes down field. Even if you are playing the game, the YPA will be low (generally) because in Madden it is just easier to complete short stuff than it is to complete deep passes.

Alot of that has to do with WR's not being able to realistically create separation against DBs. Also, an average DB is still too effective 1 on 1 downfield with his ability to jump and swat a ball. We need more coverage on the man and less on the ball.

Please open up the field, Ian. Derek Anderson should not have a lower YPA average than the worst starting QB in the league in real life.

I would love to continue to work with you on this problem if we can hopefully dedicate a thread to it. I really feel this is one of the biggest issues preventing Madden from being a sim game. Sorry if that is too harsh. We all want the best out of this franchise! We're here to help!

Ian, i appreciate the answers to my questions. Always nice to hear from someone in the know. When you were playing, did the Bucs D feel stifling? How did Garcia beat you, was it deep or did Galloway just take off?
