The only thing that matters or makes preseason interesring now is trying to make sure none of your key players are injured. Everytime I sim it, it seems to happen

Like Donny, I love injuries. It's part of the strategy. However, until they fix IR, it's kind of stupid to even have injuries.

i like injuries too, but every time i sim pre-season there are some crazy injuries that should never happen. i always value some starters more than other starters (i normally run QB like the pats/colts w/ no good back up). and when i sim, its like my QB plays a whole half and at the end of blowouts (why?) and then he'll get some crazy injury...

QB Mike Johnson injured for 4 weeks cuz he caught the flu during a play

I don't even mind that. I just hate that if I'm already to the roster limit, I have to cut a guy to sign a replacement. That really screws up my salary cap figures going forward because I sometime have to cut expensive guys or guys with long contracts and doing that accelerates the signing bonus cap hit.

Also, the whole "cutting an injured guy" is pretty crappy. So is cutting a player to keep a valuable injured guy.

I never turn injuries off at any period. Injuries happen, and when they do you have to roll with it. It is weak to turn inuries off, but hey if that is how you like it, so be it. I still think ratings should be hidden so that way pre-season games could actually mean something. If you don't play the guy, you don't find out about him. No ratings to say whether or not you keep him. Maybe next year we can have a bigger preseason roster with no ratings being shown and that way, you play the preseason and you can determine who you want to keep or cut. GM's can't see that such and such is a 75 Pass Block rating etc.. You should have a scout team/assistant coaches(of course the better the scout team/assistant coaches the better the analysis) who help you with players who seem to be struggling or standing out. That way it won't be so tedious to pay attention to every single player.

Here here! I raise a frosty mug to you, sir. I'm a Texans fan first and foremost, but I pride myself on being a fan of the league. Honestly, there's been some years when I didn't even get to a Texans 'chise because there were other interesting teams and not enough time in my life. Besides, there's a certain sense of satisfaction in being able to discuss in-depth anybody's favorite team and, if you're a know-it-all like me, even more satisfaction in knowing their team better than they do

I do the same.

As things are currently, to me...the pre-season games just aren't worth bothering with.
