No - it has nothing to do with TH doing it. How is it not obvious - would you be able to review a game that you played for 3 hours at a press event compared to reviewing it over a week at home? Its very obvious that you cannot review the game as thoroughly this way.

Does a movie have a franchise mode? How about an online mode? Or wait what about different features? Please - stop using these arguments. You cannot deny that a reviewer cannot thoroughly review the game as they should.

The big deal is a controlled environment as well as less time spent with the game to formulate a true opinion. We all can atest to the fact that our first 2 to 3 hours with the game it is good, its the 6th, 7th, and 8th hour or more for some that things fall apart. Would you trust me to review a game with that limited amount of time with it?

So we can equate this years reviews with someone getting the game early and posting thier impression of it.

Its alittle weird that they've gone this route, but by the time it comes out, NCAA will have already been out for a month, and should be a decent judge on how Madden will play

The only thing I can see this doing is making the reviews sort of a crapshoot.

I don't think you can read anything into the quality of the game from this, but I guess you could read into the quality of the reviews.
