This is a tricky question. I mean if I had to sit down and play Madden right now the obvious choice would be Madden 11. But assuming you mean most fun at the time of playing, I'd have to go with this:

Most fun: Hopefully Madden 12, but Madden 2004

Least Fun : Madden 2008 - NO REAL IMPROVEMENTS

I have a more important question. How do you find your way onto the Madden OS forums if you have only owned like 3 Madden games with 3 year intervals between? That just isn't human.

past gen: best-madden 05 collector's edition (ps2) -they got it right that year. worst-madden 06 (ps2) -did not like the qb vision cone at all.

next gen: best-madden 11 (xbox360) -loved gameflow and by far had my best success playing online ever. worst-madden 06 (xbox360) -they didn't get it right that year on next gen either.

p.s. now if they would only add a licensed network broadcast presentation (nfl network, cbs, nbc, etc.) -what are they waiting for?

Favorite Madden: 07 on original XBOX. I felt like it was the most polished Madden I played. Lots of great Franchise features and the gameplay was good fun. Played hundreds of games on Madden 07.

Worst Madden: 09 on XBOX 360. Virtually unplayable for me. The game speed was WAY too fast and Super LB's were very prevalent. Hated the menus and the commentary. Franchise was bare-bones.

Madden '07 - Great franchise mode. Just fantastic. That's all I play Madden for. The newspaper and Tony Bruno show.

Madden '11 - I really tried to like it, but I couldn't play it long with the same franchise mode as '10 (which is my 2nd fav).

Madden 93 for the Genesis is still my favorite. The drawback is the CPU was a chump so you had to rely on in house human opponents. My second favorite is the 3DO version which came out in early 1994. If not for the slightly sluggish control it would be my favorite.

My least favorite is Madden's first PlayStation effort, Madden 97-terrible.
