I just wanted to say congrats man! It was a blast when I was invited two years ago for Madden 11. An experience I will never forget!

I am busy playing 2k8 again though and sulking after watching my 49ers beat themselves [or at least Kyle Williams] in the NFC Championship game. I am looking forward to Madden 13. It will likly be the first Madden I will have paid for since 2008 [Madden 09. I won a copy of M10 in a tournament, was given M11, and skipped M12.]

Here is hoping the improved franchise has been tuned a lot more, the audio department got their heads out of their rear ends and that the game play continues to improve!

Congrats to all you people that are headed to CD and enjoy yourselves. That said, doesn't seem like this is anyone's first rodeo, so please, please consider all the gamers that don't have a chance to voice their perspectives directly to the developers and carry our water.

I would hope the awe of the opportunity will be less distracting this time around and even though you can't confirm or deny much due to the agreement, really press them on the core football risk/reward, a NFL simulation mode and the legacy issues.

Congrats again and enjoy yourself, it's "just a video game" LOL

^^ That right there justifies every minute I have spent over the last ten years playing Madden. Thank you so much, man...truly means a lot.

Everybody else: Great stuff so far, let's keep it coming. I'm doing my part and coming up with a list of things I'm seeing around here too, but I want to get as many voices out to Orlando as I can. Don't be shy!

Are they going to make any changes to the passing game? I would like you guys to give them the 9th degree about the passing game.

You know the usual:
Passing Trajectories
DB's ability to move around the field unrealistically (shuffling side to side and backpedalling as fast as guys running straight ahead).
WR fighting for the ball and using their body position.
Diving catches, where are they? You see them once in a blue moon.
Don't forget to ask them about DB's mirror the WR route.

That is all I can think of for now.

Just to follow up. Here is a video, of one of my biggest issues with the passing game. The WRs on the outside are suppose to be running hitches to the outside. But neither one breaks off their vertical route. The QB anticipating the receiver to break off his route throws the ball, yet the route becomes a vertical route. Here is a video of the "issue:

My list:

1. No more zig zag running - add foot planting and momentum so we don't have to make a rule barring use of the left stick in leagues

2. Penalties - make them exist, make them work

3. Warping - get rid of it

4. Route Based Passing - contrary to what some say, it does not exist in Madden, let's have it.

5. Online Franchise mode - need I say more? Merge it with online communities, allow you to play unranked games with your online franchise team so you can practice and use your team outside of the online franchise games.

6. A challenge system that is realistic like 2k's. Enable me to challenge all of the possible plays and make it feasible to overturn something based on the actual outcome, not some predetermined logic.

7. Pass blocking - it's screwed up compared to run blocking, can we fix it please?

8. Running backwards with the QB faster than defenders can run forward. QB should never be able to make an accurate throw, or ANY throw for that matter when running backwards. Remove that nonsense

9. How about a real pocket? Still waiting on that one.

10. DTs and that ridiculous shrug off animation - let's have realistic animations between the OL and DL. Fix the finesse moves so that finesse move pass rushers are actually a factor WITHOUT always having to blitz.

11. Did I mention beefing up online franchise?

12. Tone down the interceptions and have more incomplete passes. If the coverage is there, have more realistic pass breakups. Get rid of the superman leaping one handed interceptions and the over the shoulder interceptions on deep balls. They look ridiculous and belong in an arcade game, not an NFL simulation.


I'm sure I missed many more, but that's my main list for now.

I would love nothing more but adding the team specific pro bowl helmets. It would drive me to actually play the pro-bowl. Another thing if that isn't possible, try to adjust the rules for that one game (like no pass rush) and maybe have a lower awareness since most players don't take the game serious. In essence make a skill level called "Pro Bowl". It should be a fairly high scoring game.
