Idk man 2k has it flaws but i think it does a much better job of simulating basketball than madden does football.

But ea and 2k are definitly in the same boat with out competition neithEr one truly has to evolve or get any better and it only hurts us the consumer.

The thing that kills me with madden is that back in the ps2 days it was such a great representation of the sport, as they moved forward and graphics got better the game play regressed and year after year we were given excuses and told next year would be the year.

This year we get CCM which seems to be the most in depth franchise mode to date and we get the IE which can greatly add to realism when all the kinks are worked out. However the price we pay is the loss of much of the user control we have to been used to since back in the madden hayday.

Now dont get me wrong im not hating on madden bc in feel if 2k purchased the exclusive license we would be in the exact same boat.

It depends. It's hard for me to look past all the legacy issues to enjoy the game for what it is.

I'm willing to edit sliders, ratings, etc for my franchise to get an enjoyable game(I don't even complain about poor default sliders, until here and now I guess) but when you take those options away which they supposedly have I'm forced to play one way and just assume that the ratings and sliders and draft classes will all equal up to a realistic experience when EA has probably never made a single madden game completely realistic?

Why should I just be content with whatever game they choose to release? If I go to a movie, should I automatically enjoy it? I don't understand the logic. Everything gets reviewed or judged. Now, if you don't acknowledge the positives as well then you're not being objective and you just like to whine. Maybe some people take the positives for granted and only focus on the negative.
I don't understand your logic either lol

Sorry, but all you have to do is look at vids of said game to see it is NOT opinion, but fact. Look at the line play alone...something Madden STILL has not been able to get right, lets also look at the running game...do the rb's in Madden make attempts to get "skinny" when trying to get through the hole??

Where did anybody say they want Madden to play like 2k's game? so according to you,it's a fact huh?..LOL
The comparisons that have been and that are STILL being made are more than valid, just because you want to gloss over them doesn't discount the issues that are still present...it isn't about EA copying 2k,it's about wanting to become the best game possible.

Whether you choose to admit it or not, there ARE things 2k did better than Madden, and based on what I've played thus far (demo) Madden still hasn't progressed to the point the the comparisons wont still be made.

Some games just aren't good and aren't fun. Why should we "be happy with what it is" when what it is isn't entertaining or enjoyable?

No one is forced to. Simple as that.
You said other games did better but people like to forget other games also had problems that Madden did better. Tit for Tat.
Plus there are ways to play these other games (BC or play on the older system) if you want to play an NFL game.
Personal opinion. I happen to think that Madden back in those days did nothing better than 2k, save -maybe- some franchise mode options.

I simply don't think Madden was ever good, before or after exclusivity.

Re: Whatever happened to enjoying games

Good opening post that will have its supporters and detractors. I am sat on the fence on this one.

I will add Madden gamers are within their rights to demand more from titles like Madden and NCAA when you see a franchise like FIFA continuing to evolve in to what it is today. Add NBA 2K and MLB The Show in to the mix as sports sims and gamers are entitled to ask the question of the developers of both Madden and NCAA.

Then they need to drop the exclusive so that those of us who want to play that other game can.

And until they do drop the exclusive, I -will- expect them to make the game that -I- want and I will continue to blast them until they do, because -they- are the ones who took away my choice to play NFL football the way I enjoy.
