I have Carlos Gomez in CF and Ryan Braun in LF. I know when a ball is hit to be fielded by Gomez it's a piece of cake. Braun is an adventure to say the least. I'm debating trying to find a way to move him to 1B his LF play is so poor.

I hear ya. My outfield is nasty but my infield, aside of Pedrioa, is average to below average.

I need to make some franchise moves to tighten up my late inning defense. Never thought I'd have to do that in a videogame.......finally! It's awesome

Re: Shogun Slider option for 25 Anticipation

I have now played about 3 games with this slider set (and anticipation changed to 25/catcher block plate to 99) and have had 3 real good ball games (on PC by the way.) I just finished a 10-inning affair between Milwaukee and Cleveland, with a fair number of hits per team, etc. etc.

Animations do, indeed, look pretty smooth. And hits that normally would've been gobbled up have been dropping in the outfield or sneaking past the infielders. It's really great!

I am having one problem and I have one question however.

First, the problem . . . I seem to be getting an inordinate number of errors/bobbled balls by my infielders, specifically at 2nd base. Rickie Weeks had 4 errors in the first 5 innings tonight! And he bobbled several others that he was able to grab and make the play. Now some of this is still attributed to the fact that my Logitech Rumblepad 2 does not play nice with the right analog stick on throws. I'll move it toward first base, and it throws to third or sometimes wildly toward home plate. So, unfortunately, I have to always use button throwing, which is not nearly as "accurate" or "fun" (since the game was made for the analog stick to be used on throws.)

I never had this problem with 2k9, 2k10, or 2k11 so I'm unsure if the stick is just going bad (although calibration seems to indicate that it is fine) or what. I seem to remember this being an issue with others on release last year, but perhaps I am mis-remembering this instead.

I'm unsure if I should change any of the sliders to fix this or not. Any thoughts?

Now my question . . . (yes, I realize that I just asked one in the above sentence; I didn't intend that when I first started the post.) Do you use directional hitting with the left analog stick when you play with these settings/sliders? I haven't done so yet, but I wasn't sure if you or anybody else does and/or if you feel this is kinda cheating. I know hitters in real life sometimes will try to hit to the right side/left side or hit it on the ground/in the air in certain situations, but I wasn't sure if the sliders accomodated for using the left stick or not.

I seem to also remember trying a slider set sometime last year that said "DO NOT USE DIRECTIONAL HITTING" or something like that because the hit variety that came out of the sliders somehow made up for it.

Anyway, thanks for reading this long post. I look forward to playing more games with these sliders!

Glad to hear you're enjoying them. As far as errors go. Maybe the PC version is tuned differently than the 360 or something. I have only seen 1 error 1 the last 5 or 6 games. Maybe lower the Gather Error slider a tad and see if that helps. Also, what is Weeks defensive rating? His catch rating?

If you're having throwing errors. Not sure, my sliders make throwing easy compared to MK's. Try to click down throwing error slider and see if that helps.

I do use analog hitting but I don't use directional. Maybe once in a great while with no outs and a man on second I'll try to make sure I hit the ball behind the runner, or sometimes on a hit and run. But I find that I can place the ball by my timing.

I play PC and I don't control fielding but I do see an occassional bobble but not a weird number of errors. In fact, since the adjustment I have seen a marked decrease in the number of line drives the SS and 2B drop.

smoother animations have equaled less fielding errors. I think the throwing errors should be 5 points higher than the gather errors as that is what normally happens in real-life baseball.

Just played 2 games in a row with these sliders and the Feb 16 roster.
1st game was Braves at Marlins (me)
Braves scored top of the 1st, after a triple and then a fielders choice throw out at 1st base.
Final score of this game was 1-0.
Marlins had 7 hits but could not score, Braves finished with 1 hit and 1 run, lol

2nd game was a marathon Marlins (me) at Twins.
Tied 3-3 after the 1st inning. There would be no more scoring , plenty of hits and great defensive plays until the top of the 13th. Logan Morrison hit a 2 out solo shot to break the tie.
Marlins brought in Cishek and hold onto win 4-3.
Btw, Giancarlo Stanton went 0 for 6. Ouch.
Really enjoying this game now !

While i do appreciate having fun with a game is essential...surely a sense of realism has to play into it as well?
The pitching lines by the cpu in your screenshots are just awful.
