Another negative I saw was how players run the bases. It looks...robotic and ugly. Round the bases and run through the bag once in a while please!
Maybe it was you, but someone posted that exact same Beltre home run/out issue earlier in the thread. That would be a HUGE game killer if that is in the final version.

There is a hitch that happens occasionally when you hit a pop-up or flyball. It's not a gamebreaker, I am sure it won't be in the final release.

Here is what people are seeing.

Sent this video I put together to Ronnie2k and SteveOS; kinda interesting that while the pitch's trajectory changes, the time it takes a 92mph fastball and the 78mph curveball are the exact same. Doesn't really "feel" like you're pitching imo - feels generic.

This was a major problem in 2k8 as well, the ball jumped across the screen in flight. I notice this as well when I hit a foul ball line drive into the seats; the camera jerks like crazy.

After a few hours I came away mostly unimpressed.

PROS
-Pitching is still fun, and no longer is the strike zone super huge.
-Fielders move and throw much more realistically.

CONS
-Batting is maybe the most boring batting in the history of video games. Why they ever decided to destory the complex hit stick is beyond me.
-Presentation is pretty dull, and tons of weird hiccups (common of 2k the last few years.)
-Cameras. Unlike other people on here, I was unimpressed with the cameras. Hitting is to zoomed out and wide, you have to squint to see the ball come out of the pitchers hand. Fielding is ok, but it's been alot better in older 2k games. After hitting the ball it's pretty poor too.
-Fielding meter. I guess people are happy just to have this game have decent fielding, but that doesn't make it a pro. The meter is no where near as good as MVP or 2k's own 2k8. It's not a con really, but isn't any where near as special as people are making it out to be.

I guess I wont be getting either game. 2k has the pitching, but the hitting is so so bad. Show has fun hitting, but the pitching is so boring.

Re: MLB 2K11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (PS3/360)

Im reading a great deal about lag in the demo. now IMO this could be two-fold. first off this is a early build of the game as ALL demos are. they are no where near being a chunk of the final build. it seems like everyone always forgets that. they seem to think that this is how the game is going to come out. wrong!!

secondly how many of you are playing the game on a HDTV that has a GAME mode.. if so are you making sure to play this demo in that mode? if not you may be experiencing that lag due to not having your tv in the correct visual mode for it.

just my two cents.

The frame rate issues in 2K8 were nothing like this. They were constant, and worse, would happen as a player was about to make a play in the field.

This rarely happens, and has no effect on the play. And Chase never noticed it in the final build of the game he played.
