Okay so I was wondering if their are any tips to franchise mode in MLB 2k13? I'm new to the thread but I've been playing the game since it came out and I didn't know if their are any tips or secrets to franchise mode.
Thanks!

Well, there is no exact secret, but old players decline very fast. That's about all.

Do the minor league players and draft picks progress to nice levels?

Take, for example, my first round pick in my 10 year (fantasy draft) chise—a shortstop. By year 3, he was starting, but rated 78 (I was a speed-oriented team, weak up the middle). By year 5, he stole 50 bases a season to go along with 15 homers. Year 8: 90 overall and more balanced.

But it really depends on the skill of minor league coaches, and whether the pick/player has a fairly good potential (In that chise, I had about 20 5-star prospects). For them to get to a very high level, you will have to wait for several years; but the prospects can fill in at a weak position, if necessary.

Not words to live by though.

Thanks for the input! I looked into it, and it's very tempting to take Marte, but I have a soft-spot for other small market teams. And since Marte (along with McCutcheon) look to be franchise-type players, I don't feel right snagging him. However, the Pittsburgh farm system had a very good 5-star prospect in AAA named Garret Chase. I was able to pick him up in exchange for Harry Ludwick (my crappy LF with zero hits in 48 AB) and my backup catcher Tyler Flowers (batting a measly .119). To satisfy my need for a backup catcher, I also ended up signing Ryan Hanigan, who was a free agent.

Thanks again for the input! I'll post some updates after some fun games. I already have one in mind to post, but I'll put that up later today.

Re: MLB 2K13: The Franchise Mode Thread

I am into June in my franchise and have noticed that no players are on a hot cold streak..... they all seem to be at their original stats...even Matt Weiters who has gone 2 for his last 44 and is still at an overall 81....in beginning of season i was noticing hot streaks and cold streaks....any ideas?
