Re: 2011 Pittsburgh Pirates

After tonights win the Pirates are 50-44 and alone atop the NL Central with a 1/2 game lead over St. Louis and Milwaukee.

Also, next Mondays game at Atlanta will be televised on ESPN Monday night baseball. It'll be the first nationally televised Pirates game since . . . well, I have no freaking idea when the last nationally televised Pirates game was.

This is really gonna be a tough stretch for the Buccos as after they complete this 3 game set with the Reds, they host the Cardinals for 3 games then travel to Atlanta for a 4 game set followed by 3 in Philadelphia.

One Pittsburgh writer, Dejan Ko - something (I think it was him) suggested the Pirates be sellers due to their difficult schedule at the end of this month...

Anyway, here are some names that have been thrown out there. How do you think they'll go after? Who do you want them to go after?

-Carlos Pena
-Geo Soto
-Hunter Pence
-Derek Lee
-James Loney
-Michael Cuddyer
-Aramis Ramirez
-Josh Willingham
Well they are going to go out and get Willingham... though I'd want them to get Pena or Pence. I like McKenry too much to want Soto, though it'd probably be an upgrade offensively.

Re: 2011 Pittsburgh Pirates

I know the bottom has fallen out on the Bucs, but at least here is some humor (a friend of mine who's a Pirate's fan sent this to me):
