Went to 10 games the year after that and it's decresed ever since...to the point where I'd rather watch it on TV at home than to give this organization money. Plus, with HD and surround sound...it's better than being at the park IMO. Don't have to deal with the idiots standing up and walking up and down the aisle's all game and don't have to give them my money!

As for the Pirates, I think they'll have 5 more wins than last year: 62-100. This team still isn't good. It does have some young talent, but that talent is also quite inexperienced. It's going to take some of them a few years before they start reaching their prime. I also have big concerns over the starting pitching staff. I'm big on starting pitching and without it, I see trouble.
I also haven't been to a Bucs game in a long time. Would like to go to one soon. PNC Park is a great place to watch a game. I agree though about the idiots who keep getting up over and over again during the game and making you stand up to let them through. When I go to Pitt football games, I get something to eat a few minutes before kickoff then stay in my seat until halftime when I get up to get something else to eat then stay in my seat until the end of the game.

I also agree about your assessment. They've got a lot of great young talent as far as the position players go, but there are still some enormous questions regarding starting pitching. The need to find a solid number one starter who can consistently put out quality starts and who they can build the staff around.

Re: 2011 Pittsburgh Pirates

I just have this feeling the Buccos are going to draft Gerrit Cole. He is closer to Major League ready than Taillon and man does their rotation need a power pitcher ASAP. Also if you look at the Giants last year and what the A's might be this year, if you can get into the playoffs with a Big Three and a shut down closer you can win it against superior offensive teams. So if you project say Taillon, Cole and say Bryan Morris then Allie closing, Not bad. Pirates are just too thin in starting pitching and Cole looks to me like Josh Johnson. 2 Inches shorter but same stuff and both maintain velocity late in games.

I think I would rather them take a pitcher too. The only problem I have with taking a pitcher is that we have a bunch of guys in the minors that could be good one day, and it would be nice to draft Rendon to have him play 3B and move Pedro to 1B, but that's just me.

Well that was great to see! Go Pirates!

It was great to see patience at the plate. They walked 7 times.

these all show how i feel after watching that ballgame transpire. Great start. Excellent pitching. timely hitting. ...then the 8th comes along. Lyle overbay is a living example of how stats mean nothing (IE the .996 fielding percentage)
