I'm not worried about the starting pitching at all. The pen is another story.

Outfield defense should be excellent. Infield defense is worrisome though again Solarte is looking sharp out there.

And wow what a difference in having McCann behind the plate. It's just obvious watching him back there how much better he is than the guys last year.

Two pickoffs at second already? That starts with the catcher.

I agree, Solarte is an excellent addition so far he has a hunger in him. I'm happy with this team, we haven't went deep much at all so far but I feel it's coming soon perhaps tonight against Baltimore.

Isn't McCann regarded as the best framer in the game? Or at least top three?

Don't want to give him all the credit but I'm sure he counts a little bit.

Well they were so close to taking the lead in the eighth, and now trail in the ninth. Bullpen problems

Yes, over the past 3 years he's been the top framer, just ahead of Molina, Lucroy, and Martin.

Tanaka has looked really good early on. He occasionally allows some hard contact and has hung some pitches, like Schoop's homer yesterday, but the amount of swings and misses he generates is really encouraging.

I don't think Kelly necessarily pitched that poorly last night. He was getting killed by flares into the outfield that fell in. Clearly the pen misses Robertson though, so hopefully he's back as soon as the 15 day period is up.

Yeah Tanaka seems to have a pattern stemming back to ST. It seems Tanaka is rattled at the beginning of every game, giving up some big hits a RBI's, but right after, he's mowing down 10 in a row

Tanaka makes adjustments. Eventually in his career he will adjust before a game.
