guys, if i remember correctly i had this same framerate drop issue on mlb 08 demo too!
any of u guys remember about that?

im gonna download 08 demo tonight just to check it out...if thats the case ,that would mean the full version will run smooth for everybody like 08 did.

Now again, we know it is a way early build, that this can be corrected, but for those (even devs) to say they are not seeing it in this very demo, yet there are a bunch of us who can, and swapped both version and notice it even more so... it does cause some concern.

After all, how do you fix something you dont see?
This is what's bugging me as well. DEVS are not seeing and Some people are saying they are not seeing it but it very obvious to me that this game is not smooth like last years. So if the devs dont see it and the community leaders are saying they dont see it, What does that mean? That we who are having this issue are screwed? Or we are making this up? And please dont come with the TV crap. I tried it on both my samsung and sony hdtvs and i'm getting the same results.

Yeah Jim, that is what I am saying. It is a conspiracy!

No, I am not saying that. What I am saying, is there are people seeing it, more and more, as more play the demo. A DL anomaly for the demo to run this way is more rare than it popping up as much as it is.

It is being seen from Plasma's to LCD's to even CRT's.

What I am saying, is that some may be more sensitive to it than others. And I myself, can see a difference as the sky is blue, when I play the demo and then '08.

What my comment was for, was the fact that Chris I think it was, said he DLed the same demo, and DID NOT SEE IT. So in effect, how can he fix or address something, the dev team themselves do not see. Yet more and more posters here do.

Not accusing anyone of anything, other than the fact that obviously there is something for so many to see it. And the same can be said about those that dont, just because you dont see it, does not mean it is not there.

Some eyes are more sensitive than others when it comes to framerates in gaming. They claim that an average human eye can not see past 42 FPS, but I can sure as heck tell the difference from 42 and 60, as well as a lot of others.

Maybe it was all the years of first person shooters on the PC, and the eyes being trained for those things. Who knows.

All I know is, in this demo, as soon as pitch selection is made on either side of the ball, there is a slight dip in my eyes to the framerate in which is not there in 08.

I trust in the final product. So please dont take what I say out of context or personal.

Is there a ball shadow projected anywhere on the field? If the light source was directly above the object then the shadow would be cast directly below it. But in the demo the sun is setting casting a shadow from east to west. So in the case of a fly ball the shadow would be to the east or west on the field, not directly below the ball in flight.

Unless you are talking about the shading on the ball itself, then disregard my question.

My co-worker keeps laughing at me because I am holding my hand to my desk lamp.
I am talking about the shadow the ball would cast on the field.

In the sunlight you will see the shadow. So in a situation where only parts of the field have sunlight due to the stadium, then only in those areas as the ball is moving will you see the shadow. In shaded areas on the grass I see no shadow to mark the ball. I just hit a pop fly deep to the pitcher and there was no marking on the grass representing the shadow of the ball since the infield is dark from the stadium blocking the sun.

I didn't take it out of context. No offense, I can read. Be smart with me if you want, but there appears to be a panic over this.

Who said it doesn't exist? For those of you unfortunate enough to have it, don't pretend it DOES exist for those who DON'T see it. See how that works?

I guess this can turn into an absolute frame rate thread, even though we DIDN"T see it in San Diego, and didn't Brunnoce just post he saw it in the 08 demo? So, keep posting away.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

I'm not really sure why people are getting worked up over others commenting on the framerate. One big reason for the demo was to find any potential issues for the release if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure why people are acting like someone thinking there's framerate issues is like slapping their child.

I'm not too up on technical stuff, but isn't there the possibility that the devs don't get it on their end but some users out there are, regardless of how old this build is? I'd think that's something pretty important to figure out, and so I think it's great that people come forward with this information.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

Just played one hell of a game. I was the Phillies. Kazmir and HAmels were both on and we wer both throwing 1 hitters into the 7th inning, until Longoria stepped up. He took the first pitch of the 7th yard. Next batter (Pena) Yard! The funny thing is that Langoria hit his off the Left Field foul pole and then Pena hit his off of the Right Field foul pole. Net batter (Joyce I think) Yard. They went back-to-back-to-back on me in the 7th. My turn up and Hamels begins the hit parads. Rollins doubles, Werth doubles bringing in 2 runs*. 3 to 2 with no outs. Utley singles. Howard grounds into double play! Ibanez then flies out to deep center missing a solo homer by about 2 feet. MAn, what a 7th inning that was, never seen nothing like it. I was playing in Legend, by the way.

*I made a baserunning mistake with Werth when Utley singled and sent him back to third so I did not tie the game.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

Ya unfortunately I'm seeing framerate issues also. Pitching and batting has some annoying stutter. I have a high end panny plasma, so I dont know what the problem is.

Sometimes after the ball is pitched, it seems to jump when approaching the plate and when a batter swings, its jumpy also. The more I play, the more annoying it has become. Ugh
