But having lineups where Todd Helton leads off and David Ortiz plays 1st base over Kevin Youkilis really dampers the "sim" aspect of the game.

Also, if we're at a point where we're pointing to fixes created by community members as the only viable way to enjoy this game, I'd suggest that SCEA pay Knight and Doc commission for figuring out how to make something work that even their programmers couldn't crack.
Right on, and props to them for their hard work. They've made it a great sim by overcoming Sony's flaws.

Trust me if it gets posted I see it if there is a problem its taken to the part of the team that can do something about it.

I only deal in absolutes the last thing I want to do is say we are going to do something and then we don't for what ever reason.
which how I would expect most people would want it. Have a great weekend Russell.

truth is, you could disagree with their ad slogan no matter how accurate anything is. The reason being, its a video game. The slogan doesn't say that it replicates real life baseball step for step, detail for detail.

It states that its the most realistic game out there and compared to its competition and the past, I would have to agree with the slogan. It is the most realistic baseball title that I have played to date...screwed up lineups or not.

Line ups are part of the realism of mlb baseball and so is dh stamina. So is 60 day dl issue...those are all part of baseball.

I don't want to use modied rosters. I want to use the rosters that came with the game. Those should be the ones with no issues and I should not have to buy a second controller to get the line ups to work like they did last yea

So don't tell me to play something else. Don't tell me to use modied rosters to get over the issues.

I don't tell you to hate the game or love the game

I am not insulting scea or being unreseonable with my dissapointment. Stop trying to tell people that we are making to much of a deal just cuz u feel that way...
I can relate to some of what you are saying, but until they fix this situation, you will just have to make do like I did by using my CPU roster control on workaround for sim games and using the second controller workaround for played games. If not you are out of luck until/if they fix it.

We are stuck having to do that unless/until they fix the game. They know about the issues and the ball is in their court now. Like the old cliche goes, when life gives you lemons you have to make lemonade . That is the philosophy I take in life, and I am happier since I do so most of the time.

I am by no means trying to belittle some of your comments. I am a roster control guy myself, and I don't like to have to do all this work, especially since I don't have a lot of time to play in the evenings anymore. I end up staying up way to late, lol. I agree with you on DH stamina and the DL "issue". Hopefully they fix those for next year at least.

it would be nice for them to tell all of these people that are having freezes a little quicker though. Think about the people out there that never go to boards and read about the patches. There are thousands of people that don't know what is going on with their game and their PS3.

I'm sure they are trying to fix the problems and then decide whether they are going to patch the game or not. I was just expecting something a little sooner.

It looks like no online play and no updated rosters for me until this is resolved because I'm not d/ling the patch.

I dont think the lineups are screwed up for the most part. Are they EXACTLY like real life? Not always, but who wouldve thought that some teams would bat their pitcher in the 8 spot (Cardinals i think)?

They based it ratings so when people like AROD got hurt they didnt bat Ransom in his spot, but went in and adjusted the lineup to best fit attributes.

exactly and I wish they would not have. It was all the complaining people that caused the problem. The fixed it and it broke something else. Sometimes things just need to be left alone.
