If this was programmed, DHs would always have perfect fatigue and would be playing in too many games in a season. There's no "DH bug" because it works in the game as the programmers intended.
Whether or not players who DH play more games than other players is irrelevant. Cal Ripken played every game at SS for years. Doesn't mean he wasn't tired. A position player who plays 162 games doesn't feel as good as a DH who plays 162 games - its not even close to being debatable.

Managers do like to rotate guys through DH at times to get other people rest but that depends on the quality of the DH player. A guy like Giambi or Ortiz would almost always be in the lineup while a guy like Marcus Thames of the Tigers will still only play about 2/3 of the time (when healthy). If the developers created a false DH fatigue just to rotate guys out of the lineup, that is a bad solution.

Many of the people complaining still feel the game is a top notch baseball sim. The fact the game is so good and yet has these few stupid flaws that didn't get fixed (or created other problems) is what is making some people upset. It's like ordering a great steak in it and then finding a hair in the middle of it. I guess you just pick it out and keep eating.

Add me to the list of people that were looking forward to a tweak in the DH Fatigue, and a fix of the DL issue...I have 4 guys on the 60 Day DL and 3 on the 15 day...it's getting thin in here.
Yeah, the DL issue is the biggest disappointment for me (since it wasn't addressed). I'm sure it comes down to prioritizing, but if you're a franchise nut who plays with injuries on, then it can be a biggie...especially since there can be a TON of injuries ni this game...lol. Oh well.

This might have to do with DHs getting injured or not being very good, but you don't see DHs that play 162 games. Edgar Martinez, the greatest DH of all time, played 155 games in his most games played season.
First of all, very few position players play 162 games a year. They'll get a rare day off once in a while.

I also think you have to compare the two. In 2005, Ortiz played in 159 games. If he had to play in the field every day, do you think he would have played in 159 games? I don't think so.

Also, DHs also sit out to keep another position player in the game. Matt Wieters, for example, has a solid bat, and when he gets called up, he will slide into the DH slot just to give his knees a break.

There's no way that a DH gets as, or even more, tired than a regular position player, when the position player is out on the field every inning. The DH swings the bat, runs the bases, and sits down. A position player does all of that and more.

Maybe not 162 games, but guys do get hurt too - often guys miss 5 or 10 games because of nagging injuries. This doesn't mean that the DH sits out every 5 games because they are tired.

Playing 155 games equates to sitting out every 23 games and the DH's on this game are tired after 5. There's obviously a bit of a fatigue problem.
Maybe I'm wrong. How does the CPU rotate fatigued players? Haven't the MLB guys said that fatigue doesn't really have much of an impact?

The DH fatigue is disappointing as someone who plays as an AL team. I like to rotate my stud players (i.e. Pena, Upton, Longo) when they are getting fatigued as a way to keep their bat in the game, but give them some rest. Can't do that now. In fact, I have to play a bench guy for my DH (Burrell) to get him rest, doesnt make sense.

The DL issue i havent run into, mainly because I havent made it deep enough in a franchise where alot of guys would get hurt, but that almost makes me want to play with Roster Control On but i absolutely HATE that I will give up injuries as well as any sort of trades or signings.

Yeah, I completely agree. Last year it worked perfectly, I was able to give position players a little rest while keeping their bat in the lineup (they would recoup some energy after DH-ing). As a Yankee fan you often see Girardi (and Torre before him) do this to give Posada a break without losing his bat, same with Giambi last year (and apparently again on the A's this year) when his legs were hurting. I've even heard it called "a half a day off" by different managers & broadcasters. As I said, it worked fine last year, that's what makes it even more frustrating that it's broken this year. IF SCEA would give us the option to TURN OFF ALL GAME TIME DECISIONS without penalty if we want to, this would solve a myriad of problems.

This is where I am exactly. Verbatim.
No post patch issues but I was hoping the DL DH bugs were fixed.

Fatigue doesn't impact the players attributes much but it does significantly boost their chance for injury. When they get tired the cpu subs them out.
