Re: Itbeme23 Sliders - Vet Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching Emphasis on Accurate Strike

I love your sliders!!, used them last year too I get the best realistic stats out of them. just from my first game

Cubs V Cards.

Cubs were up 1-0, Lester was on fire 10 strikeouts only 2 hits 0 walks, top of the 7th 1 out, I hit a double and the CPU hooked him off.. and this is a ACE pitcher!

I don't think the issue is with the CPU hook I think it's the situation and the score in the game, I bet if the CPU had a 2 or 3 run lead that Lester would have stayed out there and played a complete game his pitch count btw was only at about 80.

ended up losing the game 2-0, John Jay had a E8 tripple in the 8th! I had the bases loaded in 8th but couldn't tie the game. but I am rusty with hitting, when I get better Id change my pitch speed up a few notches I find that makes the game harder for me as I go.

Hey, man. Thanks for giving the sliders a shot. Your pitching stats actually look pretty decent for the most part, with the exception of the Philly relievers. One thing to remember about this game, is you need to have a plan at the plate. If you go up there hacking at every pitch, the CPU will start taking advantage of it, trust me. You need to try to be patient at the plate, and work yourself into hitter's counts. Not only will you see your hitting improve, but you will start to walk more, AND you'll rack that CPU pitch count up. Keep at it, man. It comes with practice. Hope you stick around for more test games!

Thanks for giving the sliders another shot, man. I'm glad that you enjoyed them last year. Hopefully, this set will be as good as last year's, and I'm confident that it will be.

As far as the Manager Hook slider goes, I'm on the fence about the effect that it has in-game. If you'll notice in the slider definition in the game, it says that it is affected by mostly "game situations". That means, in theory, the CPU would pull a starter earlier than normal because the reliever matches up against the hitter? I don't know if I like that type of umbrella logic. Because if I'm a manager, and I have Jon Lester on the mound with only 80 pitches, even after a double, I'm going to take my chances. That's the type of stuff that really bugs me about A.I. logic. I just played a test game with Manager Hook at 3, and I'll post stats shortly.

Next time post box scores/stats if you can. I'd love to see what you're experiencing with the set as a whole!

Hey, dude. It's been a few years since I used Meter Pitching. I know that I've read through a bunch of threads in years past saying that you have to zero out the control and consistency sliders to get a good challenge, so you may want to try that.

I'm curious though, have you tried classic pitching yet? I've used every interface in the game, and believe me when I say that Classic gives you the most realistic simulation experience in the game. So, if that's what you're searching for, I urge you to give the sliders a shot as-is for a good five games, and hopefully, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Hope you decide to give them a shot.

Re: Itbeme23 Sliders - Vet Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching Emphasis on Accurate Strike

Game 8

Slider Tests:
*CPU Solid Hits: 7
*CPU Manager Hook: 3
*CPU Reliever Stamina: 1

LAD: 6 11 0
PIT: 4 11 0

Win: H. Ryu - 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 6 K, 100 Pitches, 60 Strikes, 40 Balls, 60% Overall Strikes, 56% First Pitch Strikes
Loss: G. Cole - 4.1 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 85 Pitches, 51 Strikes, 34 Balls, 60% Overall Strikes, 67% First Pitch Strikes
Save: C. Hatcher

Team Pitching:

LAD: 150 Pitches, 98 Strikes, 52 Balls, 65% Overall Strikes, 66% First Pitch Strikes
PIT:154 Pitches, 96 Strikes, 58 Balls, 62% Overall Strikes, 65% First Pitch Strikes

Team Strikeouts:

LAD: 3
PIT: 13

Team Walks:

LAD: 4
PIT: 4

Extra Base Hits:

LAD: 4
2B: C. Crawford, H. Kendrick
HR: Y. Puig, Y. Grandal
11 Hits/34 At-Bats = .324 BA

PIT: 4
2B: G. Polanco, S. Marte, J. Mercer
HR: C. Hart
11 Hits/37 At-Bats = .297 BA

Notes:

As far as the slider adjustments, I really liked CPU Solid Hits at 7. It was a welcomed change of pace from the last 4 games, as I felt like the CPU actually was putting pressure on my pitchers, as was evidenced by Ryu's short and mediocre outing. I think I will leave it at 7 for the next 4-5 games to see what the stats look like.

I personally think Manager Hook does have something to do with the CPU pitchers being pulled early, but I couldn't tell this game. Garrett Cole found himself in trouble all game, and after giving up a 3-run homer to Yasiel Puig to break a 3-2 lead in the 4th inning, Clint Hurdle pulled him. I can't say that I would've done anything differently in that situation, so more testing will be needed.

I plan on leaving all settings as-is for the next few test games, unless stats dictate otherwise.
