FanGraphs is excellent for this stuff....I always check out the team I'm about to play before a series starts and make any moves that I think are necessary to make

TNK - "TEST" New York Mets Franchise
Game #7 of the season

Miami Marlins (3-3) @ New York Mets (3-3)
Pitching Matchup - Sixto Sanchez vs Noah Syndegaard

The Mets home opener got off to a rocky start as Noah Syndegaard struggled to locate his pitches early on and the Marlins took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning when Brian Anderson clobbered a 2-run HR to LF. Miami would get a RBI double from Starling Marte in the top of the 3rd to make it 3-0. Sixto Sanchez was dealing on the mound for the Marlins hitting 100 mph with regularity and the Mets trailed 3-0 after 4 innings. Syndegaard would battle through 6 innings of work on the mound for New York and the Mets looked to make some noise as they had a man on after Lindor singled with 1 out in the bottom of the 6th to bring up Dominic Smith with Pete Alonso on deck but Sanchez would get Smith to ground into a 4-6-3 double play to end the threat and send the game to the 7th inning with the Marlins up 3-0. Syndegaard would finish his outing with a strikeout of Rojas to end the top of the 7th and Sanchez continued to dominate as he retired the Mets in order in the bottom of the 7th sending the game to the 8th inning with Miami leading 3-0. Jeurys Familia would get through the top of the 8th keeping it 3-0. Sanchez would record two quick outs in the bottom of the 8th before Luis Guillorme hit in the pitchers spot and singled up the middle to being up Brandon Nimmo with 2 outs and he would hit a tailing line drive towards the LF line but Dickerson would make a nice running catch to end the inning and we would go to the 9th inning with the Marlins up 3-0. Miami had runners on the corners with 2 outs in the top of the 9th against Dellin Betances and Marte would hit a ground ball up the middle for a RBI single to add an insurance run making it 4-0. Sean Reid-Foley came on to get Jesus Aguilar on a ground out to send the game to the bottom of the 9th with the Mets coming to bat trailing 4-0. Richard Bleier replaced Sanchez on the mound to begin the bottom of the 9th and retired the first two batters before Alonso hammered a ball off the wall in CF for a two out double. Conforto was up next and put up a good battle before flying out to the warning track in CF on the 11th pitch of the at bat to end the game as the Mets drop their home opener to the Marlins 4-0

Great sliders but with fielders speed and reaction so low don't you see countless hits falling in the outfield and leaking through the infield?

Not at all....sometimes I consider possibly going lower, but it works great where it is. Try it out!

TNK - "TEST" New York Mets Franchise
Game #8 of the season

Miami Marlins (4-3) @ New York Mets (3-4)
Pitching Matchup - Sandy Alcantara vs Marcus Stroman

Marcus Stroman was pitching well early as he had not allowed a hit through his first 3 innings of work on the mound. The Mets would load the bases with 1 out in the bottom of the 3rd with Alonso and Conforto coming up but Alcantara would wiggle out of danger as Alonso popped out in foul ground and Conforto bounced back to the mound as the Mets squander an early opportunity and we would move to the 4th inning with the game tied 0-0. The Mets would take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 4th when Jeff McNeil hit a solo HR to CF. Marcus Stroman picked up his 5th K of the game to end the op of the 5th and New York would extend the lead in the bottom of the 5th when Francisco Lindor hit his first HR as a Met and it was a memorable one as he crushed it 437 feet into the upper deck in RF to make it 2-0. The Marlins would get on the board in the top of the 7th when Garrett Cooper led off with a liner in the gap for a double and he would come in to score on a RBI ground out by Dickerson to cut the Mets lead to 2-1. Trevor May came on to replace Stroman on the mound with a man on first base and 2 outs and would get Berti to pop out to end the threat. John Curtiss pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 7th for Miami to send the game to the 8th with New York up 2-1. Trevor May retired the side in order in the top of the 8th for the Mets. Richard Bleier came on to pitch the bottom of the 8th for Miami and the Mets would add some insurance as Lindor singled to lead off the inning and Dominic Smith would hit a 2-run HR to right-center to open up a 4-1 lead for the Mets. Edwin Diaz recorded two quick outs in the top of the 9th and the Marlins were down to their final strike when Brian Anderson launched a solo HR to LF making it 4-2. Diaz would come back to strikeout Dickerson to end the game as the Mets win 4-2

TNK - "TEST" New York Mets Franchise
Game #9 of the season

Miami Marlins (4-4) @ New York Mets (4-4)
Pitching Matchup - Elieser Hernandez vs Taijuan Walker

The Mets took an early 2-0 lead on solo home runs by Francisco Lindor and Michael Conforto. Taijuan Walker was pitching well for the Mets and the score remained 2-0 until the top of the 5th when Walker walked Dickerson and Jorge Alfaro turned on a pitch inside and blasted a 2-run HR down the LF line to tie the game at 2-2. The score remained 2-2 until the bottom of the 6th when Daniel Castano took over on the mound for the Marlins and hung a breaking ball that Pete Alonso hammered for his 1st HR of the season to give the Mets a 3-2 lead. Aaron Loup took over for Walker on the mound for New York in the top of the 7th and Jorge Alfaro would hit his 2nd HR of the game to tie the score 3-3. The Mets had runners at the corners for Pete Alonso with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th against Adam Cimber and Alonso would fight off a sinker low and inside and hit a blooper into shallow CF for a RBI single to give the Mets a 4-3 lead. The Marlins had a runner on second base with 2 outs against Betances in the top of the 8th for Garrett Cooper and Betances would get Cooper to chase a fastball away for a huge K to end the threat with the 4-3 lead intact. The Mets had two men on with two outs against John Curtiss in the bottom of the 8th and would add a huge insurance run when Brandon Nimmo lined a RBI single into LF and we would head to the 9th inning with the Mets leading 5-3 and Edwin Diaz coming on to try and close it out. Edwin Diaz retired the side in order striking out Alfaro to end the game on a 100 mph fastball as the Mets win 5-3

* The Mets take 2 out of 3 from the Marlins and improve to 5-4 on the season

* Francisco Lindor is heating up as he went 5 for 8 with 2 HR in the last two games of the series hitting his first two HR in a Mets uniform.

* The Mets will remain at home as the Phillies come to New York for a 4 game series at Citi Field. David Peterson will take the mound for New York against Matt Moore for Philadelphia in the opener.
