Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

I'm about 90 games into my season and I'm hanging on to 3rd in the NL Central with the Pirates. I think I'm 48-42/43 at this point. Having a blast with my squad and I play all my games.

I waited for the ASB to conduct all trades (30-team control) and a few notables I can think of off the top of my head:

Twins 1B Joe Mauer to the Indians for prospects
- Mauer was hitting .341 and the Twins had the worst record in baseball. In his first two games he hit 3 home runs for Cleveland.

Phillies SP Cole Hamels to the Red Sox for prospects (Henry Owens+)
- The Phils suck and Boston needed an improvement to the rotation badly. Hamels threw a CG SHO his 1st game.

There are more I'll post them later

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

I'm 31-14 in my Yankees up 1.5 games on the white-hot Orioles, winners of eight straight. I split the first two games of my series with Kansas City in the Bronx. For some reason I can't get Eric Kratz out, and it's really getting annoying. Looking to take the rubber game of the series later tonight.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

End of May - 2016

May Schedule / Results
Spoiler

Now that is the kind of month I was expecting. 19-8 to bring us to 31-20 and take a 2 game lead over Detroit for 1st place.

In April we hit .240, 193 hits, 18 HR and 84 RBI. May we hit .261, 240 hits, 24 HR and 108 RBI. Eric Hosmer, Jarrod Dyson and Mike Moustakas all had great months. Hosmer slumped a bit at the end but still hit .351 with 4 HR and 13 RBI. Dyson was pretty solid all month. He hit .333 with a .418 OBP in the lead off spot. Moustakas was terrible the first 14 games of the month. He hit .175 with 0 HR and 3 RBI. But he broke out in a 15-3 win over Milwaukee. In that game he was 3-5 with 2 HR and 9 RBI. That helped him hit .387 with 4 HR 15 RBI over the last 13 games of the month. Overall in May he hit .292 with 4 HR and 18 RBI. Gordon came down a bit. Hitting .302 now and still leads the team in runs, HR and RBI.

Pitching was already good. But it got even better. April - 3.15 ERA, 188 hits, 87 ER and169 K's. May - 2.25 ERA, 176 hits, 62 ER and 188 K's. Danny Duffy and Jason Vargas are dominating. Duffy is 7-1 with a 1.32 ERA in 10 games. Vargas is 6-2 with a 1.73 ERA and 9 of his 10 games have been quality starts. Kris Medlen is doing pretty good as well. 3-2 with a 3.00 ERA. Ventura and Volquez are struggling, But have seemed to be getting better. Ventura is 4-6 with a 4.20 ERA and Volquez is 4-4 with a 4.55 ERA.

In AAA, through 10 games Sean Manaea is 7-2 with a 1.39 ERA and 83 K's in 71 innings. Whit Merrifield is hitting .322 with 20 RBI and Hunter Dozier is hitting .296. For AA, Jackson Yates is hitting .363 with 5 HR and 21 RBI to go with 16 SB. Jesus Fernandez is hitting .301. But he just cant buy a hit with RISP hitting just .077 and only has 8 RBI. Foster Griffin is 4-0 with a 1.57 ERA. At 20 years old he looks like he could be a beast for years to come.

On April 16th, rookie Stephen Piscotty for St Louis was suspended 70 games for a failed PED test . He was hitting .333 at the time.

I completely forgot the scout players so the draft will be very interesting.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Somehow, someway, the Colorado Rockies are 24-22.

Here's a look at the DL:

RF Carlos Gonzalez: (.236, 9 HR, 23 RBI): inflamed hip; est. injury 2-3 weeks, DL time 8 days.

SS Daniel Descalso (.253, 4 RBI) pulled calf, est. injury 2-3 weeks, DL time 10 days

60 Day-

3B Nolan Arenado (.197, 2 HR, 8 RBI) torn ACL, 6+ months, 34 days DL time

SS Troy Tulowitzki (.270, 6 HR, 12 RBI) fractured shin, 1-2 months, 37 Days DL time

These injuries have given a lot of playing time to:

Rookie baseman Angelys Nina (21 hits, .236, 4 RBI)

Shortstop Omar Quintanilla (.364, 1 HR, 1 RBI in 3 games)

Rookie OF Kyle Parker (.400, 2 RBI in 7 games)

Wilin Rosario (.262, 3 HR, 14 RBI)

SS/2B Rafael Ynoa (.333, 2 RBI in 11 games)

OF Brandon Barnes (.286, 4 RBI in 15 games)

Ending a road series with the 22-24 Reds (Kendrick vs Iglesias) before starting one with the 21-27 Phillies.

The bullpen remains pretty anemic, especially Tommy Kahlne (8 ERA) Axford (0-1, 7.36 ERA, 2 saves) and Rex Brothers (0-2, 4.66 ERA, 3 saves)

Christian Friedrich, Aaron Poreda and Boone Logan have been bright spots in the BP. Logan is our latest closer.

Eddie Butler is one of our best SPs at 6-1 with a 3.99 ERA. De La Rosa is 2-1 with a 3.03 ERA. Kendrick is 2-5 with a 3.59 ERA. Lyles is 6-1 with a 2.62 ERA. Matzek is 3-6 with a 4.35 ERA.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Normally I don't complain about trades in a franchise because I treat it as my own little fantasy world but this one was so puzzling that I decided to post it.

Dodgers trade: SP Clayton Kershaw

Rangers trade: 3B Adrian Beltre, 2B Rougned Odor, CF Delino Deshields Jr.

Dodgers are in first place at the time Kershaw is 4-1 with a 1.61 ERA, Rangers are 2nd in the AL West just two games back of the A's Beltre is only hitting .161 with 1 HR, Odor batting .200 with just 30 AB's and Delino only has 7 AB's and one hit. This trade happened on June 10th, not sure why the Dodgers would make this trade.
