Bad bad feeling about this years game

love how this thread turn from someone having a bad feeling about this years game to how old we are and how much time we still waste playing video games or even worse the amount of time we talk about them on a forum.......

Yeah, late 40's here and I play a ton of RttS. And why not? I spend all day at work and commuting, the last thing I want to do when I get home is treat a baseball game like Serious Business™. If I want to buy power bracelets and a day-glo bat for my 99 OVR left fielder, hell, I'm gonna do it.

The beautiful part about this series is you can make it as easy or as hard as you want. You can play very sim, very arcadey or something in between. And I would guess the large majority of us fall somewhere in the middle and the balance of arcade vs sim is very much a personal preference.

At least this game gives you the tools to cater the experience to your liking. The NBA 2K series is probably the only other one that does so consistently. Games like Madden (though I liked 15 and especially 16 alot) and NHL and others tend to bounce between a more sim focus one year, more arcadey the next.

Yes perks and such are being introduced this year. Totally optional features. But there's TWO blogs/streams dedicated to Franchise. There's something here for everyone and quite frankly, that has never been a bad thing.

Now, about that stride....

I wouldn't say i have a bad feeling about this years game, just no where near as good a feeling as years past.

I just feel like it's become a little stagnant, with relatively small improvements the last few years (with the exception of year to year saves).

The improvements they have made (such as brand name equipment, retractable roofs, any graphical improvements) merely seem to be additions that are just catching up to other games.

I mean, i guess i'll have a "good" feeling because it's baseball season and i'll have a good baseball game to play for the next 9-12 months. But i just feel like it could be a lot better.
