It was a $12 overpay.
Liberatore ($30.1 mil) alone is worth more than Bryant. Not by a lot, but his long term cheap control put his value higher.

Brujan ($43.2) is also worth more than Bryant.

Faria has very little surplus value at this point, having been a below average player during his time in the majors, and also having been DFA'd by the Brewers and going unclaimed. There's might be upside, but he hasn't shown anything yet.

So, by my math, it's about at $46 mil overpay.

I don't use the same method for value as other do in this thread. And use Fangraphs prospect valuation

I use for Future Valuation which had Bryant Surplus @ $69 million and Discounted Surplus at $44 for two years.

Liberatore at BA Rank 41 = $40

Brujan at BA Rank 51 = $29

So by my metrics that's an equal trade for both parties. Faria was just a throw in

All good man, you do you.

Here's the issues I see:

-Brujan is ranked at 39th on MLB.com, and Liberatore is 41.
-Brujan looks like he'll start in AAA this year, and should be in the majors by the fall.
-If you think the Rays would move those two for 2 years of Bryant, at a pretty significant cost dollar-wise, go for it, but is there a move that the Rays have ever done that fills that M-O? He's making $18.6 million for 2020, so he'll likely make $23-25 for 21. Their current payroll for 2020 is around $57 mil. That's a significant jump.

Yeah, unlikely the Rays ever do that.

Re: Official MLB 19 the Show Trade Discussion

I am thinking I may move Miami to Montreal but would like to bring in a face of the franchise. I am leaning towards Kris Bryant. What would I have to give up from Miami to get Bryant and maybe Schwarber?

My outlook with Miami moving to Montreal is ownership is now ran by competent baseball people that want to win and will increase the budget to do so. Looking to increase budget to top 15 in baseball.
