This trade cannot completed because of budgetary constraints

I'd still like to hear SDS' take on this if they reply to the submission just to get a better understanding of the behind the scenes limitations. From the numbers it looked like there should not have been an issue taking on more salary, but is the hidden 'boss' nixing a deal based on a formula we haven't discerned that wouldn't allow this in April without dumping salary, but may later in the year?

so there was an instance where a trade could of went through.

If i wanted to I could Trade Moncada (3.1 mil) for Trea Turner (5.2 mil)

Not really related to your thread but ole Moncada and Tim Anderson are making 31 mil a year for me right now (98 OVR and 99 OVR) in 2024. They are an awesome duo.

Wouldn't hurt if they made budgets simpler to understand. It's a joke system and dont know why they insist on making it overly complex.

Honestly, because if they didn’t change that one aspect (even by making it less intuitive and more frustrating) they would have literally done nothing to franchise mode whatsoever that year. So it was neon lipstick on an old pig.

I prefer this system over what we had before, as it provides more depth to the financial side of things, in terms of putting fans in seats and earning the money needed to lure big time free agents to your club.

Aside from the offseason where it doesn't show your overall available budget, its much like what we had previously in terms of how it operates (not being able to trade/sign free agent in offseason because its holding back X amount of dollars to re-sign contract renewable players)

What is happening to the OP is, to me at least, unexplainable because I don't understand what would be preventing him from making that trade. He has the funding and its the regular season. Really baffling.

Moncada is great for me, currently leads the league in RBI's and I love that first pitch hitter quirk.

I traded Anderson the first season to NYM and he is still a 77 A potential. I never liked his swing.
