Re: Kimbo Slice a TUF 10 contestant

It is not about the level of fighters,Brock lesnar is better prospect and is better fighter but him and kimbo where push by a fight league before any where close to complete product. It is same situation hype unfinished and unready fighters,Lesnar is more talent version of what happening kimbo.

Fortunately for Brock he is athletically freak and which helps by pass some stuff but fundamentally he is an awful to average fighter.Only because he was huge star in wwe the reason he got a shot that did and only because kimbo would bring rating that he got to bypass a normal tryout and up on tuf.If Brock lesnar was not who he was he would still be looking for shot in the Ufc like bobby lashley.Fame is a playing huge role for lesnar like kimbo that was point, two companies where using the fame of person to promote them and really their skills

Re: Kimbo Slice a TUF 10 contestant

Comparing Kimbo Slice to Brock Lesnar is like comparing the New England Patriots to the Detroit Lions.
Lesnar was 33-0 in his senior year at South Dakota high school, from there he came second, in 2000 he became NCAA National Champion.
Brock's record in college stood at 106-5, and Shelton Benjamin was his assistant coach - (he also roomed with him)
So Lesnar has an excellent wrestling background which IMO is the most important style to grasp before entering MMA, granted his WWE career was short and yes he has openly admitted to using steroids, nevertheless he is a beast.
Slice on the other hand has no wrestling background, he used to be a bouncer for a strip club, had tryouts for the Miami Dolphins and reportedly has completed a 10 year stretch in prison.
His one and only loss came against Seth Petruzelli, where Slice was scheduled to fight Ken Shamrock - it took Petruzelli 14 seconds to knock out the street fighter.
