I had the fight 3 rounds to 2 for Thompson tbh. Like Big John said, octagon control alone cant win you a round. Wonderboy was landing clean hard shots in that fight too while being pressured. But w/e was a good technical fight I enjoyed. I rather Till win anyway cuz no one wants to see a Woodley/Wonderboy match again im sure. I rather see Till vs Woodley anyway.

Why harp on cage control? It is weighed below things like damage.

Till clearly did more damage and had control on top of that.

Wonderboy out-threw and out-landed Till.

What’s this “clearly did more damage” nonsense?

Cage control is not enough to win fights.

Who saying it is. I am saying Till did more damage.

Which he did. Outlanding someone doesn't win fights by it self, it's as meaningful as cage control. What matters is damage amongst things like cage control etc.

Till outdamaged Thompson.

Re: UFC Fight Night 130: Thompson vs Till

That was a boring fight. Not sure how anyone had it 49-46 Till. Thompson had at least 3 rounds. There was 0 damage done by either fighter. Control only matters if the striking and ground was even. Till only connected in round 5, other than that, he was missing except for the weak quad kicks.

Till should be forced to move up and start over. He can't make weight and uses his size for his power. Cut all the mass or move up.
