It's those freaking bombs he has for hands. One of those lands and Colby's suddenly in another dimesnsion.
That's the whole point. Putting pressure on him and fighting from the inside will take away Woodley's only striking threat - his overhand right. That's what Macdonald and Jake Shields did to him, and also Nate Marquardt for most of that fight.

You're a new fan, so you're unfamiliar with Jake Shields and Rory Macdonald, but Shields is an NCAA Division II wrestler and a two time All-American, and has tremendous experience in folk, freestyle, and submission wrestling, and Macdonald is a high level MMA wrestler who has out grappled many high level wrestlers and jiu jitsu practitioners (including Woodley.)

I guess it depends on someone's definition of a high level wrestler. Imo high level wrestlers don't get taken down by Demian Maia.

Macdonald got Woodley down in third and was stuck in his guard while Woodley held his arms. Imo Rory won that fight with by using a long, low stance, his jab, and very nice kicks.

My definition of high level wrestler is just more strict than yours, I guess.

Either way Cobly has to get by RDA first.

Either way RDA vs Colby is a good matchup, and I can't wait to see it!

Almost the whole card should be great. I still can't believe Marshall Mathers and Sergio are fighting on fight pass prelims.

I hear Whittaker and Yoel fight is still on.

Yes we know Sheilds has wrestling credentials but he's not a high lvl MMA wrestler. I wouldn't consider Mcdonald a high lvl MMA wrestler either. He has good MMA wrestling, but I wouldn't call it high lvl. A high level MMA wrestler is like GSP or DC.

DC is ELITE... LEGENDARY MMA wrestling level, but no, I wouldn't consider Rory a high level MMA wrestler
