Domination mode is absolutely ridiculous

I keep mine on Half Court Trap the whole game. Sometimes they can break it but it causes a lot of turnovers. By the 4th quarter they change their defensive strategy and the bigs get tired, then its snowbird city.

How do you keep it on half court trap the whole game? If you set it once does it stay that way the next defensive possession? I'm not sure I am doing it right as mine seem to go back to man to man right away.

yes, it stays on whatever defense you select.

It's annoying that the ONLY way to progress thru this mode is to play a trapping or pressing style of uptempo basketball.

I dont know what way you want to win then...lol. you are not giving 2k too many options. Post fade cheese is not needed anymore so be thankful for that. I played 2 games today, beat the Heat and Raptors in HDom. no problems whatsoever and I didnt make one post shot. I feel the way I have been winning has been realistic aside from the traps. I win off rebounds and assists mainly. If you want to play sim ball and win, the quarter length would have to be extended and I dont think anyone wants that....I sure dont. The last game I won 77-70 and got 834 pts. I dont even have to blow them out. The game before that I beat them by maybe 15-20 and got 980 pts.

Still...something is wrong when you are FORCED to play a trapping gambling defense just to rack up 'points'/MT to get to a certain level.

It's called 'Domination' mode...so I'd prefer a system that rewards points for good play, not just racking up stats.

That would include points for other things...like margin of victory, turnovers forced, Opponent FG%, shot clock violations forced.

The current system only rewards a certain style of play...uptempo, fast break, with trapping on defense to force a few extra turnovers and to get the CPU to take faster shots.

It's just annoying to me. If it were truly about 'Domination' they'd do more than just focus on racking up stats. Just saying...
