Re: Why Shot Timings Need Revision on SS & HoF

OP,

Good stuff the problem you illustrated is a shot form issue that I hope they fix in the patch. You can make an average shooter better than great shooters because some of the release shots are glitched to the point you can't get the perfect releases. Also you can test this as you move up from SS to HOF some zones can get no or hardly any green releases on glitched players. I know this is true on Korver shoot some close shots I bet you get green releases within a few tries.

For example you can get green release on close/medium shots on SS but on HOF you may only get green's on close it is very weird and it varies for players. Then I play with players who can get greens all over the court.

HOF basically places a bigger penalty on non perfect releases, so it basically makes Korver very average on HOF playing against someone when he can't bring up his numbers to get perfect releases.

I am really surprised a Dev hasn't chimed in on this issue. It basically nerfs HOF user vs. user if the shots are not fixed.

Was your foot on the line? Make sure it is a three pointer because I can get perfect releases with Korver on 2 pointers but not 3 on SS/HOF Sim. It's not just Korver. Over 100 players suffer from a broken jumpshot animation on SS/HOF sim. Korver is just the most striking example because he's supposed to be the DEADLIEST catch and shoot player in the league.

If the patch doesn't fix hof, bump down to Sstar.

First Kyle Korver on sSstar you will be hitting green's all day.

Even near to the 3 point line green's.but still kind of hard to catch many green's from 3 point line.
The only thing I like that I was making like 5 straight 3 without green's,so you will make shots.

Hof is brutal, no mercy, miss after miss,no green's.
sorry but no love for hof player's.

Re: Why Shot Timings Need Revision on SS & HoF

Devs confirmed that HOF is boosted, so I don't play on that level ever.

But yea sample size is too small...that's why I said..."not trying to say (prove) anything here..." But that is literally what happened. On the 7th shot it was green, so I stopped. Don't really care all that much, I play on SS/Sim and think it is balanced enough to have fun with.

But seriously, why do you guys just constantly beat your heads against the wall on these higher difficulties if they appear to be less than your standards?

I just don't get constantly being frustrated instead of tweaking sliders and/or lowering the difficulty.

Can we try to stay on topic (research, trial & error, data collection)?

Appreciate the advice, the tips, and the support, one way or another.

Guys like me are playing other people for the most part and not the CPU. That's the main reason. Most of the games I play are vs other people on HOF, simulation sliders and 12 minute quarters. We use the play with friends mode and you can't customize sliders or anything in there.

Using the Pacers, I haven't seen a green release from any guy on that team from three since the game came out. Definitely none from Copeland who is 90 rated out there. I play more league games than probably anyone I know. Each game is over an hour and that's a lot of game time on the court.

I reversed teams with the our leagues Lakers owner once, green releases from three that very game with no practice. Zip. If it's hall of fame, then you'd think it would take some practice with new guys but it took absolutely none.

That's the problem right there.

One last thing there is some type of delay when your taking the shot?

And the truth is they don't want you to cheese the green meter special on that level.
2k show some love for hof.

I haven't experienced any sort of obvious delay when shooting the ball if there is any.

I will re-test the players some time later, in light of standing shots require shooting the ball after standing for more than one second.

That may shed some light in regards to makes on HoF and SS.
