Perhaps you win some sort of online "cash" or "coins" that you can only get online and you have to use those? Like I said in my previous post (which everyone seems to have ignored), the option to "buy wins" was blocked off at the lower two tiers that were shown in the video.

Everyone is really getting angry over something we know basically nothing about. Let's just wait for some real info on it before we start claiming 2k is just grabbing for cash.

I'm not a huge fan of microtransactions either...However, if they didn't have them they probably could not afford to sign more legends, they also might not be able to afford other brandings (socks) or other things..so do I like them? no...are they a necessary evil to keep pushing the game, yes. Buy away.
