Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17

I wish we had 150 upgrades to deploy at our leisure instead of being pigeon holed into the type of player that the developers want us to be prior to getting to use your player at all.

Would be fun to be a LDD early in the career, only to develop into a very good offensive player like Paul George or Jimmy Butler as you progress.

I agree somewhat but then there is Roy Hibbert.

Bruiser is pretty valuable and it'll should work well against guards too. My logic for going with a SF over PF is a rather the have PP & PG over bruiser and Rim protector. I mostly going to hound PGs so the badges are a better fit.

I going to end up making about 4 characters. A PG 6'3" short arms slim frame most likely a playmaker. LDD wing 6'8" long arms slim frame. A scoring wing not sure on build and a big not sure on build yet.
Cool! Yea buddy Imma add you... later on today.. I'll throw you a message. Throw one back to me...we should run a little 2k16, gain a little chemistry. I did that with MJ23 Polabear, was fun as hell with our unique builds... hope u got a mic.

Edit: Since your focus is Point Guards you would average more points off turnover than me (either through poking ball loose, getting it ez solo fastbreak "lane" to the hoop or finding a streaking team mate right after recovering a steal for an assist). You would average more points and assists and I would average more blocks and rebounds. When our Grand Badge Hot activates I would turn into a mini-Dikembe Mutombo/Ben Wallace and you would turn into a true THIEF possibly stealing the ball repeated times during the window and finishing at the other end. And if we both happened to trap or double team somebody, its a DONE DEAL. All theoretically of course, gotta add that lol

I don't have the exact numbers but height and weight also contribute to speed so there are other variables but pending everything is the same the difference between 14 and 25 is 11.

I know that with a 10 difference between 15/25 defense and 25/25 the guys with 15 have a 74 Lateral Quickness and block/steal while the guys with 25/25 have like a 94 Lateral Quickness and block/steal. Should be around there, I might be mistaken but gives you an idea.

With the difference of 11, maybe 22 or so attribute points difference in terms of 14 agility versus 25.

Honestly though a post scorer is not trying to fly by his opponent, he's trying to post up he doesn't need 25 agility.

I think it is gonna be quite substantial. Especially if you're gonna be 6'11/7ft.

I don't think you're gonna get over 75 speed with a player that big even with Athletic Finisher, and will probably need to compensate some speed for weight and strength coz you would get abused in the paint a lot.

Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17

I think first build for me has to be 6'8 SF Shot Creator.

Just to have fun while learning the game. Give him some long ish arms to play good perimeter D, and to dunk/layup/post.

I'll also go with light weight because then I can get higher vertical for rebounds and the 8 strength cap will mean I will have to be a strictly speed attacker, and can be a pest defensively zipping into lanes for steals.

Gonna have to really work on my iso moves tho coz I'm not that great with them on 2k16.

If anyone wants this sort of player in their Pro Am on PS let me know!

Second build will probably be a Lock Down Defender, also SF, but slightly taller and thicker. Probably 6'9/6'10.

Third build will be a big, either Glass Cleaning PF at 6'10/6'9 or Athletic Finisher at the same size.

Who would you compare these builds to as real life NBA players? Past and present?
