Yeah that's what I figured out, you gotta be looking at the feets and not the hands. It might be easyer and more consistent if you have to release when the ball leaves the hands like for jumpshots. It would be a longer button/stick press/hold too. The hands are always more visible than feets too. Did you guys try something like that during the dev cycle ?

I think you are misunderstanding. It is not a first party (Sony/MS) patch update, it is an update administered from our servers. In order to apply it, you simply need to go to the main menu of the game. These are usually just subtle changes that you likely won't notice (unless something is affecting you).

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

positives
rebounding is vastly improved. seen some animations that were

flashy passing seems on point more than ever. I feel like I'm actually controlling LeBron now for a change....

menus and the way u can watch 2k tv during loading is a nice small touch

negatives

the graphics took a step back.. they seem very NBA Live-ish (stick figure esque) when I played my first game in 2k16 at the start I was wow'd by the graphics. quite the opposite last night.

classic teams are a disaster. a throwback Suns with no Nash? hilarious stuff 2k. no Sheed still.. etc.. and not sure where the 92 dream team is (I know there's a thread on this)

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

I know comparisons don't go over well sometimes but I bought both this and madden this year after skipping 16 for The Show, Madden and this which are the 3 sports games i usually buy. I feel like the differences are minimal. Madden improved more and was worth the money although it really had room to do that. NBA 2k the new controls are more fluid and gameplay tweaks but having a new story mode isn't really a selling point I overly like. The game is nearly identical to 2k15 with some minor tweaks a roster update and they've added new story modes the past few years. I feel like 2k is a great game but i wish there was more support for older titles. I don't see the need for the upgrade so much, more like I have to to get the new rosters to play online. NBA 2k is a solid game and continues to be every year. I feel like Madden got to that level this year. It's worth $60 if you don't have an older version but this game is not really worth buying every year any more.

I'm really enjoying career mode so far, my teammates aren't too bad and actually make shots and it feels more like im actually in the nba.

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

My impression.

Mostly a improvement over nba 2k16, but a very small one. Wish courts had more shine, or at least the option. visually it's ups and downs. Gameplay is smoother.
