Switching player to player is sooo unresponsive and slow. One guy just flat stops because you're trying to toggle between guys.
Very very very slow overhead passes.
Random passes to guys 50 feet away still happen.
Scoreboard will already show the correct score but still does the animation and changes to the same score (example you have 32 and hit a 3 for 35. Itll change immediately to 35 but then do the transition animation from 35 to 35. Not major but give me a break)
I was down 3 at home 40 seconds left. Cheerleaders dancing. Mascot on stilts. Awesome right? No. Crowd was dead silent. All sitting down. No noise at all.
I press Y to jump and it takes the player 7 seconds to perform the animation and have control of him again.
Trying to steal on the run doesnt exist. You know 2k players can swipe the ball as they are running. The player completely stops and peforms some rapey slash at their crotch. Not only does it never result in a steal but it also takes you out of the play. Terrible especially on fastbreaks.

The game is a mess... some of you will say oh wait for the patch...why the FVCK should we pay $60 to not be able to play the real game for months waiting for a patch?

2k doesnt give a ****...their marketing wins every year. They improve NOTHING.

NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

In a nutshell I am sure we will get used to the UI but why waste the time and money to change that. It worked fine and basically gets hard coded in our brains after so many hours. The timeout menu and on fly subs are what I can only describe as jarring. I really don't like it. Whoever made the decision to spend the budget on that overhaul should get some negative marks. Unnecessary.

Good:
Jump shot seem quicker and more fluid.

Dribbling will be great once we get the hang of it.

Oops seem better.

Gameplay in general seems like it will be a improvement

Bad:
Bugs. Lots of little bugs.

Players not subbing on a TO. Really?

Quicksim gone from in game menu.

Default CPU shooting seems a hit high.

Bugs in expansion stuff.

POE gone from teams.

All in all I chalk most of my issues to being so hard wired into 2k16, but some of the decisions to keep changing the sub/play calling/in game menu just seems like a waste of resources.

I'm pretty sure patches will clean up a lot of stuff, but it is one of the buggiest 2K games I have seen out of box.

If you do subs through the pause menu of a timeout then they work and take effect immediately.

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

graphics are good but still here are the things that missing for me

for no this are some suggestion that in my opinion make the game more detailed.

In-Game.

-Full replay for every highlights.
-Towels and towel boys.
-Away fans celebrating. Put more colors on crowd it looks dead with the home team color ways only.
-Injured teamates in suite seating in the bench.
-Realistic passing animation when driving to the basket.
-Small window showing the coach being interviewed while playing in the start of the 2nd half.
-Fix the slo-mo animation when driving to the basket, specially when dunking.
-Players arguing during hard fouls.
-Players wearing random sneaker colors just like in real nba games.
-Fix the players looking the other side while inbounding.
-Fix players that are skinny.(Durant,Wiggins etc.
-Players helping team mates to get up when they fall down.
-Halftime report should replay only highlights instead of random clips and the panel discussing the play whether its a defensive or offensive plays.
-Update every Nba players hair.

My Career.

-Nba players Hair style, head shape and body type should be available for customising My Player.
-Baggy clothes should be available especially the jerseys in My Store.

peace!

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

After the first weekend with plenty of playing time, I must admit I'm a fan of how the game plays. The new rebounding system really feels good after boxing a player out, also the user input on layups is also satisfying too. Albeit with all the positives there are still a couple of glaring negatives I wish 2K could iron out. Passing still feels very sluggish and "floaty" if it was easy to fix I guess they would've done so already. Transition offence is terribad! even when set to "run on fastbreak" players don't react at all to pushing the ball up the court. If these two items could be corrected I'd be in BBall heaven when it game to digital entertainment.

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

I think we all need to give ourselves time to adjust to the game feel and controls. We can't be so quick to judge when we haven't even been playing for a week. But I will say this about the game.

I am loving the mid range pull up game! I feel that the moving off the dribble shots are much better because of players having the off the dribble mid range rating. In the past I would always have to stop and get my feet set but now the game rewards you for the off the dribble pull ups on the move.

Now I can really really do work online with smaller guards.

This is an issue for me as well. Your cpu teammates get caught on every screen, get cut on way too easy, and loose there way too frequently in transition. The overall gameplay I like and am coming to grips with, but our cpu teammates defense needs some solid work via a patch.

It's complete nonsense and game breaking for me. It's just not realistic to make those big of mistakes on court.

Lakers are shooting 57 percent right now against me. I'm playing good D then boom! Someone gets lost and gives up a 3 or a layup. Down 22 right now and it feels like i had nothing to do with it

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

Does anyone else have both versions of the game, PS4 and X1? I played around 4 games on each system over the weekend, and they play quite a bit different. After noticing it, I went and played a game with each variable the same (time, roster, uniforms, home & away teams, sliders) .

It'd tough going back and forth between the versions, and not because of the controller. The ps4 version plays quite a bit faster, and more frantic which exaggerates the suctioning and sliding out of place. I noticed it in each of the games I played. The game looks better on the ps4. Colors are definitely more saturated, and the players, crowd etc appear to be much sharper. But on the court, the x1 version plays a more settled game. I'm assuming that it's the speed that's causing it. I saw a lot of the legacy player shifting/rotating out of the play on the ps4, which I rarely see on the x1. It's very interesting to say the least. I may try to fool around with the speed and quickness on the ps4. I'd much rather play on ps4 due to the ease of sharing, but I'm enjoying the game on x1 currently.

I talked to another of my friends this morning, and they said they saw it as well. He picked it up early on the ps4, and had a digital pre-order for x1, so hes had quite a bit of time with the ps4 version. He said after playing the x1 version, he may sell his ps4 copy.

It's very peculiar no doubt. I was just wondering if any of you have saw it?
