Re: Issues with Athletic Finisher Build

I think part of the issue is that in NBA 2k17 they increased the effect of strength for driving to the basket. However, Athletic Finisher/Slasher has a low strength cap. I feel like i finish my contact layups/dunks better on my PF Lockdown Defender than my C Athletic Finisher.

Agreed, I'm going to use my final 3 upgrades all in Strength, but that will only get me to a 69 strength. It is just poor that the impact strength has was not made explicit. Now I'm too far into my build to fix it. I'm stuck with a 69 max strength for now.

I don't know why everything from the impact things like strength has, or the significance of Speed vs Speed With Ball, all the way down to badge requirements is so freaking secretive! It's ridiculous everything has to be a mystery.

Adjusting height and weight? Here's some up and down arrows showing you the impact, no actual data though...

Look at the screenshots, I'm attacking right at the basket, and the defender is sideways to me. I should have easily BOOMED on him, because he isn't going face up with me. All the power of the collision is in my favor in this instance.

I legit think your build is glitched.

Here is my thinking process. Due to caps and restrictions and certain animations needing certain rating thresholds: I'm convinced your build is lacking a specific rating or 2 in a specific area of your game that is forever holding you back from accomplishing these animations as seamlessly as you'd expect.

Cards, you seem to have came to my same conclusion / realization from what I see above. I replied to your quoted post reply to me before reading this next page.

I do think it's a rating holding you back. My slasher friend upgraded the strength on his 6ft6 SG and he says it's immediately paying off. Im not saying strength may be the be all end-all but it is a factor in the paint and driving to the paint.

Vertical may be another rating holding you back - it's like you don't have enough vertical or reach or a combination of all three at the worst.

I thought vertical as well, so what I did was upgrade my agility tower to 23 out of 25, so my vertical is as close to max as I can get, practically.

Strength on the other hand has like 6 bars available. I'm going to use my final 3 bars in that tower and I'll be 95 overall (69 strength).

Funny enough, I got Hall Of Fame Posterizor very late last night. It was on a non-contact dunk. Just a flashy dunk with someone in the vicinity.

I'm going to put together that video of clips showing how often I get the airball dunk animation.

Is it possible to tag Coffinsh or Beluba in a comment thread so that they can see the video for themselves? I'll be sure to have it uploaded tonight.

Re: Issues with Athletic Finisher Build

Are you guys being set up by a PG or trying to go off the dribble? We played two athletic finishers the other day and their guards were getting them the ball on the move and they were dunking all over us. They were huge though 7'2 and 7'3, some of their dunks were contacts over a glass cleaner.
