Yah thats odd, dirk shouldnt be put on a shooting guard. That A.C.E engine is weird, iv seen it do some pretty stupid things, turn it off immediately and just set your defensive settings manually.

I’ve turned it off after that game and man o man I’ve been having some pretty good games against the cpu...only thing is I have to find sliders to lower the fg% for both sides, they are too high..

ACE is making the following assessments

1. Wesley Matthews is the top defender (by a mile) and matching him against Porzingis (NY's best offensive player by a significant margin).

2. It is identifying Dirk as a much better defender than Kleber and putting him on Lee is the lesser of two evils. If Kleber were properly rated then he would be making the switch to Lee and you'd probably be happier with the end result.

3. Realistically, if anybody is switching onto KP it should be Barnes rather than Matthews due to the discrepancy in post defense but the game probably only looks at who is collectively the best defender rather than crunching the matchups (which would inevitably lead to a ton more discrepancies).

4. The above would also lead to Dirk on Hardaway Jr, which is an even worse matchup than Lee. That would lead to Matthews sliding to Hardaway and still result in Dirk being "hidden" on Lee. It also bears noting that Lee is nowhere near as good in the game as he is IRL.

Actually yea. Since Dirk is old and one of the worst defenders in the NBA right now. Sticking him over on Courtney Lee who basically just sits in the corner waiting for 3 pt shots isn't that bad of a strategy.

Also, Barnes on KP is absolutely the correct play. Wes should be on THJ and assuming if they are running lots of P&R, switching wes and barnes is perfect since that's their only two versatile defenders. (Listen we are talking about dallas mavericks like a top 5 worst defensive team, maybe the worst?).

I'd have to watch the game and see both lineups to see if it was working correctly but if Dirk is your C then Kanter will expose the **** out of him, bad. So the game probably put Kleber on him.

Kleber -> Kanter

A.C.E probably trying to figure out SOMETHING. Lee def. the easiest cover, which is prob why dirk was on him. just guessing. There's gonna be a spot open somewhere, only good defender is Wes and he gotta be on THJ.

Edit* I also won't pretend to know jack **** abou some kid named Maxi Kleber who plays 12 minutes a game on Dallas he might be a defensive maestro and if that's the case wait about 3 years for our 2k "ratings guru" to figure it out.
