Hilarious, 40% on wide open threes is basically what Steph Curry (47%) shoots when left open. You think it's reasonable for a non-shooter to shoot only slightly worse from three than the best shooter ever? By allowing non shooters to be able to hit 40% of their threes you remove strategy from the game, you
shouldn't be a respectable shooter, you shouldn't be able to make them at a good rate if you're a 61. Leaving you open and guarding the paint is how real basketball works when a non shooter is on the floor, just like how slow bigs shouldn't be able to keep up with faster ones, remove the hip riding animation. 2k is too concerned with holding the hands of players, which is why the player base is in the dumps now, you want to shoot 40% on wide open threes with a non shooter, that is just wrong and your 3 point shooting should be a glaring weakness if you're a slasher. Your team should have to build around your weakness with players that can do the things you can't, which would lead to more of a variety in the teams.
In essence you want Amare/Shawn Kemp in the paint that will dunk on anyone, who shoots 40% from three and when you rush the line he blows by you and initiates an unstoppable animation? A player like that has never existed, why stop there? Why not just give Sharps your contact dunks, let the rim protectors be able to equip elite dribble moves while we're at it.
