I am not sure how they’ll set this up but I don’t believe 2K should allow you to have badge progression in this mode. Just VC. I believe people will find some way to cheat the system. Just give VC that’s a little less than if you played ranked ProAm Games and call it a day.

Already confirmed we will get badge progression which I think is nice

I know it’s confirmed but they was saying something like they’ll be able to monitor boosting. I am saying, I don’t think they should’ve added badge progression in Private matches. Only some VC.

You can't be this naive. You know full well that people are going to get together all their friends to boost and grind badges.

Do you know how easy it would be to get the rim protector if your friends let you block their shot on every possession? You could easily get 100 blocks before the game was over.

Do you know how easy it would be to get the dimer and catch/shoot badge if everyone else just rebounded the ball.

Naw...they need a cap or restriction on what can be earned through private matches.

Ehh, tbh, I don't see that much of a difference between boosting with friends and badge grinding against the AI on an easy difficulty. Just that one will put up a bit more of a resistance than the other.

Difference is that we can now do it together instead of everybody doing their own thing in offline MyCareer which a lot of people don't want to do anyways.

Sounds like they'll nerf how much you can get, so if people wanna get together and knock it out, I'm cool with that. We were all going to max our badges out anyways, one way or the other. As long as people aren't doing nonsense like somehow getting contact/elite packages on players who shouldn't have them.


Also, if this means that people who want to play buddy ball stay away from stat/badge chasing in walk on games, then that's absolutely a win for the rest of us. I can see why it'd be bothersome, but once you get to 90 or so, progression comes to a crawl. If people wanna spend their year doing this lonely, droning grind amongst themselves...have at it, I guess.

Got no issues with putting a daily cap on your earnings though.

I honestly don’t think it’s gonna be that big of a deal. I think it’s gonna be harder to try to get at least 5 other friends to play 30 minutes to badge grind. I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be a much easier way to badge grind once the game comes out.

This is definitely 2K repainting and old car and calling it new, seeing as this has been a necessity to the Pro-Am iteration. Glad we will finally have this available at our leisure and fitted to those that want to enjoy a good classic 5 on 5.
