Honestly, just should have put em in with that much. They've got teams here with less than that. I know it's not ideal but it's something.

Also in regards to that comment about Powell, I personally recall DM'ing Ben Gordon about getting him on the game for the possible All-Time Bulls. Gave him the places to reach out, he said he did, but heard nothing from it

Nah miss me with that. Look at the latest classic grizz team. They just have 5 real players. They can put the Lakers in today. And how dare they advertise Odom in the “back to back” series in MyTeam if they don’t have any of his championship teams in the game.

I know people want Barkley but I was happy to see a player like Doug West added last year. Give me guys like Harold Minor, Sam Bowie, & Chris Morris & I’ll be ok. That and upgrade the PS3 Models.

Before anyone says we already have one Bill Russell team, consider the fact that they won 11 titles and only have 1 iteration of their team in the game. We need a Cousy version of the team and later version of the dynasty. I can see 1968 and 1969 being an issues because Bill Russell was the coach and they'd have to somehow remove the coach from the sidelines/in-game menus so I'm leaning towards the 1967 team.

Here is a list of the other 60s teams that are close:

1969 Lakers 74.2% (Still in his prime Baylor/direct rival to 69 Celtics)
1967 Warriors 65.4%
1967 76ers 51.7%
Worth pointing out 2K doesn't really benefit from adding pre-80s teams. The core reason is the lack of 3pt line.

Simply put, the game is coded counter to how basketball was played 50-70 years ago.

In terms of routes the AI takes in transition and on-court spacing, it's a disaster. You have a team of players w/ zero 3pt tendency/rating running straight to the 3pt line. Many players were products of rules that no longer exist. The paint was a foot smaller on each side. Back-to-basket 5 seconds didn't exist. Harsh dribbling rules restricted shot creation (imagine 2K offense without the Pick & Roll).

5v5 the user experience is miserable on either end. Absolutely no one is taking the 65 Celtics and pitting them against the 2020 Warriors (or vice versa). These teams aren't functional unless they are pitted explicitly against other teams that have the same limitations. I don't think adding more of these teams is really doing much for the vast majority of the userbase.

I think it's okay to celebrate these players individually. Certainly players like Russell, Wilt, etc have played a significant role in MyTeam over the years. As far as exciting/engaging/functional content, they can do better.

(Refining existing content should take precedence over adding content that only moves the needle for Grandpa + Chuck)

that’s bs because they sure didn’t change them prices 2k been money hungry for quite some time and yet all the money they make and they still won’t give the retired players association a million dollars. they’ve gotten too comfortable.

I thought it was a million dollars to each player?

If I'm right, that is indeed way too high a price to pay for Barkley.

If you're right, that's a bloody bargain, what on earth?

New Classic Teams in NBA 2K21?

I thought Barkley wanted a yearly donation of 1 million. I think that would be cool but what happens if Scottie Pippen wants more money? Or Karl Malone? 2k is running a business. A one time donation would be fine but if other players want what they see as “their value” then 2k would have to drop the classic players entirely. No business is giving up a significant amount of their profits.
