This side of the game also seems like it would be super easy, and it could be accomplished by a team of like 3 people tops.

Again I'll use my specific lens as a Mavs fan but things like this apply across the board to lots of different teams. Why is Tyson Chandler on the '11 Mavs classic team rated an 84, but then is rated an 82 on the Mavs all time team? What is the point of having a roster of 15 players for the All-Time team if you can't use the last two guys on the team online? Oh not to mention that in 2k21 they still have Luka at an 87 rating even though his PNO rating is a 96.

The Devs went through the trouble of adding LeBron to the Lakers All-Time team, but not someone like Porzingis who after even 1 season should be on the All-Time Mavericks over someone like Brad Davis or Shawn Bradley, he just had the best non-Dirk front court season in Mavs history. The Devs wasted no time adding Kawhi to the Raptors last season, so don't tell me it's about longevity. Oh and they already have Kawhi on the Clippers all time team this season.

As someone who was about 50/50 on buying the new game or sticking with 2k20, this kind of laziness seals the deal for me. I am not the type of person who rushes out to buy the newest game system in the cycle, and I remember what a HORRIBLE job 2k did with the PS3 versions of 2k starting in '14. If they want to just do the bare minimum ok fine, but then don't charge $60 for the game. I learned my lesson last time though, not making the same mistake again.
I can't speak for Take Two, but I work for one for the largest financial institutions in the world, and we were limited in our capabilities once we started working from home.

I'm just saying...your expectations were too high. That's why I'm not getting NBA 2K21. Between current and next-gen development, I'm assuming current-gen would have more than likely had the lowest priority. It is what it is.

There's a difference between low-priority and doing nothing. Why are my expectations too high for a $60 game? If the game was free to play and 2k only made their money off of micro transactions, ok fair enough. But that's not the case. Ratings and things especially, even if they are low priority, EA has like 1 guy who does ALL of the ratings for Madden. You don't need to be meeting in person to assign someone to do a deep dive, or hell even a shallow dive into player ratings. I'm not expecting them to do a whole overhaul to their game engine, hell I wasn't even expecting them to actually fix all of the issues with MyGm and all of that stuff. But tweaking the rosters is literally the lowest hanging fruit.

I too have been working from home since Covid, and yes it presents interesting challenges but there was never an expectation that all of a sudden I can do shoddy work.

Re: Play Now Online 2K21: Endgame

Getting this game at launch as someone who primarily plays PNO is dumb lol. And I spent 100 bucks on it.

I really want to try and Tweet at 2k that not updating rosters until next gen is dumb. Like, there are a lot of players who have had breakout games (on the Spurs, at least), and to leave the ratings as is seems incredibly lazy.

I thought of another question, if anyone can answer it. With the rosters, are they using injury-free rosters for PNO/by default?

First two, fouls on jumpers and navigating around after a misblock attempt, are they consistent all the time?

If so that's very very good, no more game of wrestling if they are consistent...

These are very encouraging! I'm wondering, are you seeing a lot of these "jumping" animations turning into fouls? One of my least favorite parts of this game was people constantly jumping on top of my player, with a contact animation engaged, but no foul being called.

Keep in mind we had fouls on jumpers and with poor block timing last year...like ATAMAN mentioned above, they just occurred too randomly to really impact gameplay.

Navigating around defenders who leave their feet is intriguing tho--while I doubt they have it tuned well i've always thought making the defender hang in the air longer/gather after they land (from a missed block) was a good idea.

I haven't seen it quite like 2K16 where jumping into someone stationary gets you a foul as of yet, but it doesn't "trap" you or knock you back as far as I've seen....you can navigate around it consistently.

Re: jumpshot fouls

Thought it was significant because it was my very first game, but you're right, worth keeping an eye on to see if its consistent.
Fortunately, the pump fake foul in the post is consistent.

The freedom to navigate is real though, same with steal attempts.....reminds me of 2K18 a bit in that regard.
