Re: Points in the Paint

I've seen it happened way too often where the other team doing iso moves and then drove right to the paint for a layup. But none of my teammates tried to stop him, or too slow to react. No contact, block or anything. Last year your men left assignments randomly to guard the paint. Seems like this year is the complete opposite. They are very slow to react and guard the paint. I don't know if it's the issue with the help defense or what.

With the increase in Pull-Up tendency, players will now not only drive to the rim but will actually pull up for a mid range shot. Rose had his Pull-Up tendency at 35 on the default 2K roster which is puzzling since all the other PGs and scorers had it at 60 or above and was scoring in different ways not just inside the paint.

Also reducing Inside and Shot Shot tendency and raising the Mid-range and 3PT shot tendency in the global gameplay screen will reduce the amount of PIP as well. If you are sick of seeing the CPU making unbelievable passes to cutters in the paint, increase the Hands attribute for the User and CPU which will make your teammates deflect more passes.
Your right about the pull up tendency, 2K has had that low on a few star players for the past few years, and I don't understand why. When you raise it, it really improves the gameplay, I've messaged the 2K Insider about this for the past 2yrs, but he ignores it, unless I mention that a player has the wrong head band or shoe on, then he responds, lol.

Re: Points in the Paint

What about points in the paint for online play? You do not know what kind of game I just played. I played my friend on Hall of Fame/Simulation. The contact is non-existent. Sliders for Simulation are at 100 too! It looked no different than if they were at 50. Melo slipping right passed Humphries and Wallace for a layup. 2K has to patch contact big time.

Re: Points in the Paint

Im getting better at stopping the PIP.

this is where 2k messed up. most of the points in the paint are becasue of screens. in the defensive assignments when you pause the game you can set your defenders to hedge. once you do this, defenders should properly jump the screens which ever way you desire. this will aid in stopping the penetartion.

what I dont understand is why 2k didnt havet his accessible through a timeout without having to go to the pause screen.

use this along with L2 to box out and the rebounding and PIP issues go away. dont forget to put hands straight up if the cPUgets an offensive reboudn cause they like to go straight back up.

a tip with rebounding, L@ shoudl be pressed as soon as they shoot so you players can get into position. if not, tehyll beat you to the ball every time.

Re: Points in the Paint

cant say i share the same sentiment of most u guys post about PIP is too high
bad defense and bad habits caused high points in the paint for me so far....

XBOX 360
allstar
simulation 8 min qrt

contact animations and contact animations in the paint is max at 100 on simulation and the games plays like a charm...
me not getting a defensive rebound feels like its my fault for not being in a good position to get it,not properly boxing out, mismatched with a better re bounder that me or bad bounce off the rim in the direction of my opponent

and for some of u who never played the game while connected to xbox live there was a 12mb update day one for this game. i keep telling my buddy who never connects that for some reason contact animations and points in the paint plays out better with my updated version...and this is without the recently released roster update...placebo effect?can confirm or deny it but IMO defense is much better and contact animation in the paint is relevant and more frequent which affects made shots....

i started a defensive thread maybe u guys should take a gander at it and see if anything new or interesting is there that can help a bit

Re: Points in the Paint

have you guys ever tried playing better defense? bringing other players in to help? I swear it's like if you guys aren't good at something you blame it on the game mechanics. play better defense and stop bitching about a patch because at some point the game becomes completely broken
