Coward Zone users have single handedly ruined 1vs1 mode

Just wow.. this game is unplayable 1vs1. godlike cpu recovery speed along with tipped passes every 5 seconds. thanks for reminding me why I play blacktop and teamup. Can't hardly get through a game or 2 before quitting due to the number of cheesers who play zone all game. Didn't know I bought NCAA 2K14.

Dude ... paint defense is broken w/o zone. You either use it or somebody is gonna blow by for a dunk/layup or throw a lead pass 99% of the time.

At this point, things being said have already been said and that everything 2K Sports is focusing on is NBA, WWE 2K14 (maybe Choops, NFL, or MLB too.) Plus, the paint game is broken online. Either you'll get scored on the paint 30-50 times or the man throws 15-30 threes in a game. Pick your poison with the defense. Man to man is still superior to me... I don't need to run back and forth to a Shooting threat compared to zone.

Haha. Welcome to my daily frustration. Let me guess: Dude played a 1-3-1 with constant pressure coach setting, deny ball on everyone, switch on picks for everyone, off ball defense with him cheating towards the open guy in the corner.

The logical thing would be to use offball control and make your guy cut but the AI warps to that. Another logical thing would be to skip pass but those passes are normally lazy and get picked off.

Your best bet is to hope the opponent you play against sucks at this strategy (most of the guys who run this don't since its easy to do) or quit. I'm barely over .500 online and at least 12 of my 15 losses online have come due to this strategy.

I hope one of these days LD2K or Ronnie2K plays one of these guys during a live stream. I'd love to hear if they could keep their cool haha.

I can't take it I felt your pain but with practice and a little patience you can beat the 1-3-1.

My recommendation or tip is heat playbook...horns. You find this play (not hard) you beat 1-3-1 because it places either your sf and Sg in the corners. As long as corner specialist is around you 131 will survive without getting burned.

There are other plays but I can't give you everything...happy hunting.

I don't mind zone....if people want to play it, then play it. Teams in the NBA play version of 3-2 and 2-3 matchup zones at times. So it's realistic...at least somewhat.

My problem though is with the 1-3-1. Sorry, but this defense has NO business being in the game. It's not used int he NBA and it's been a crutch for bad players and a WEAPON for cheesers for more than a few years now.

It needs to be REMOVED. Replacing it with a box-n-1 would be more realistic than having the 1-3-1 in this game. Unless 2K is publishing an NCAA basketball game, then the 1-3-1 should be scrapped. It has no place in an NBA game....NONE.

Yup. 1-3-1 is horrible. When somebody starts using it then I make it my mission to sub in all my best corner 3 shooters and murder my opponent.

2-3 zone all day.

It pisses me off when i'm playing on ball and my opponent whose using a far superior team STILL plays offball 2-3 or 1-3-1 zone defense. However, as annoying as it is it is VERY beatable. You have to space the floor, call a quick isolation and you should see quite a few open players on the perimeter. Even if he does recover to the open player you pass to just pumpfake and do a dribble pull up, it's cash-money my dude. I always message the player after I win to give him a piece of my mind lol

I reckon using Heat, OKC, Clippers and Knicks when I'm using Magic, Bobcats etc... is cowardly, so i have no problems "cheesing" with zone defense then.

Sure, Zone is beatable, even with the ridiculous recover D time, but the problem is, once you're open, YOUR shot clangs off of back rim. Thanks for rewarding us for playing good basketball.

When THEY'RE on offense, the game rewards them with silky smooth swishes after jacking up the most unbelievable shots from 35 feet out or on fadeaway 3's after running around in circles for 23 seconds of the shot clock.

This game is only as realistic as the person you're playing. Without a like minded sim opponent - this game is utter trash online. Pure trash.

being open shouldnt mean shot will go in , thats a big misconception these days. There is no shot ratings boost from being open
