Re: Fistofrages Heisman Sliders

Spending a lot of time with my wife and 1-yr-old this evening. I advanced the week just now. I'll probably play my first game in the morning if I have time. Good luck!

Re: Fistofrages Heisman Sliders

Well... I can report that the first few games with these sliders and a bad team were absolutely brutal. I beat FCS East without a whole lot of trouble. It was a 10 point game ultimately though it really could (and should) have been worse. Second game I played a ranked team, Iowa, because I wanted to see the difference... and holy CRAP was there a difference. Suffice it to say I got a 40-some point curb stomping. I can't even explain what went wrong, because it was everything. Their pass rush felt like a jail break on every down. I was horribly inaccurate passing unless planted and with no one too close to me; even when my passes found their target, the receiver dropped the ball a lot. Defense was laughable - I forced few punts and no turnovers, and they had over 200 rushing yards and 300 passing yards. Almost every run play went for 10+ yards unless I manually blitzed and hit the guy in the back field; otherwise no one would get off blocks and he would just waltz right through the alleged teeth of my defense.

I don't think I was even playing badly, personally; it's just that their talent was completely overwhelming mine in every aspect of the game.

Second ranked game went along the same lines except I scored more on a few hurry-up drives - final score was like 60-30. I actually picked off their first pass on a tipped, bobbled ball and quickly went up 7-0, and then got murdered the rest of the way.

I need to play a little more to be sure, but I think for this dynasty to be enjoyable to me I'm going to have to tweak a little bit and make certain things a little easier. I don't feel like I should beat teams like these more than once in a blue moon, but I'd at least like to feel like every single snap isn't an exercise in frustration.

Sounds realistic to me. If you are a created team that is basically like a D1AA team, thats what scores are like in real life. You give up 60+ poinsts per game and 500+ yards to ranked BCS teams. That's life. I guess you have to decide it you want realistic or fun.
