Re: ESPN College Football: Global Sliders

I used these to a T, except I lowered false start to 75, and threshhold to 35.

I only had time to play 1 half as PSU (me) vs a scrub (Akron). I should blow them out and am.

PSU Stats then Akron

Score 27-7
first Downs: 14-8
Offense: 296-129
rushing: 14-121-1 ; 18-37-1
Passing: 12/18 175 1TD ; 8/14 92 0 TD
TO's: 0-0

Here's why I lowered False Start:
Penalties: 5-25 ; 1-5 (defensive off sides).

You can't hard count with false start at 100. I had 4 in the first quarter, lowered to 75, had 1 in the 2nd quarter.

TOP: 10:23 - 9:37

Not bad.

Looks like a pretty good half. Try your penalties at 65 for the ones not maxed out except for holding and face mask maybe clipping. I would say 35 on those and see if anything still gets called. I am still in the testing mode. What im having issues with is any passes over the middle my guys always open and I could do those plays all day. I am trying to figure out something for a tighter coverage because these guys should not be open that much all the time. It could be just a flaw in the game but will do more thorough testing.

Re: ESPN College Football: Global Sliders

I just played an Exhibition game as Boise State vs Texas Tech in the Fiesta Bowl.

I Sim-watch all special teams plays (field goals, punts, kickoffs, etc.)

My Penalties are the same except I have False Start at 75.

My speed threshold is 35.

When I was up by around 4 touchdowns I changed my Tempo to Conservative to burn the clock.

I always hold A on defense to have my defenders make good plays because 9/10 I'll screw it up if I try and take control.

I also always use the latest Community Rosters.

Team Stats
BSU - TTU
Score: 50 - 14
First Downs: 27 - 1
Total Offense: 586 - 14
Rushes/Yards/TD: 60-419-3 - 12-(-25)-1
Comp/Att/TD: 12-25-2 - 8-22-0
Passing Yards: 167 - 39
3rd Down Conv: 9-15 (60%) - 0-9 (0%)
4th Down Conv: 0-1 (0%) - 0-0 (0%)
2-Point Conv: 1-1 (100%) - 0-0 (0%)
Red Zone - TD - FG: 8-3-4 (87%) - 1-1-0 (100%)
Turnovers: 1 - 5
Fumbles Lost: 0 - 1
Intercepted: 1 - 4
PR Yards: 35 - 0
KR Yards: 65 - 306
Total Yards: 686 - 320
Punts - Average: 0-0.0 - 6-37.2
Penalties - Yards: 2-15 - 1-15
T.O.P.: 31:43 - 8:17

The only touchdowns TTU made were off of a kick return and an interception. I dunno, maybe it wasn't the best choice of team to try these on but even still, I think these make it too easy. Oddly enough after my first touchdown TTU was able to block the extra point which I have never seen before in the game.

Re: ESPN College Football: Global Sliders

Okay here's another game, this one a lot closer.

BSU (me) vs Alabama (CPU) in the Sugar Bowl

BSU - BAMA
Score: 28 - 18
First Downs: 16 - 15
Total Offense: 386 - 314
Rushes/Yards/TD: 39-201-1 - 30-47-0
Comp/Att/TD: 13-27-2 -21-45-2
Passing Yards: 185 - 267
3rd Down Conv: 5-13 (38%) - 5-19 (26%
4th Down Conv: 0-1 (0%) - 3-5 (60%) For some weird reason when I sim-watched one of my early 4th downs they tried a fake punt pass instead of a punt.
2-Point Conv: 0-0 (0%) - 1-1 (100%)
Red Zone/TD/FG: 3-2-0 (66%) - 2-1-1 (100%)
Turnovers: 1-1
Fumbles Lost: 0-1
Intercepted: 1-0
PR Yards: 18-35
KR Yards: 80-125
Total Yards: 484 - 474
Punts - Average: 6-37.2 - 7-36.1
Penalties - Yards: 1-10 - 1-10
T.O.P.: 20:35 - 19:25

So overall a much better, more realistic game, IMO. The first one against TTU must have been an anomaly.

Does your starting running back not vanish later in the game with your sub settings?

Yeah, he does. I lower the sub in by 5 and he actually came back a few series later... At least that part works this year.

Re: ESPN College Football: Global Sliders

NIU 10 Ball St. 0

I only played 3 mins due to having class soon i will play another game tonight with 7 0r 8 min quarters and post those results

niu/ball st.

first Downs: 9-5
Offense: 149-79
rushing: 15-61-0 ; 9-(-17)-0
Passing: 10/12 88 1TD ; 8/16 96 0 TD
TO's: 1-1(Each had one interception. CPU on a deep pass)

Total Yards: 157-147

T.O.P 8min/ 4mins

I played conservatively on offense and defense. Alot of short passes longest pass was 21 yards. Defense i controlled the RE and got some pressure on the qb. The computer controlled linemen got to the qb easier then i did. Overall it felt good but i need to play with longer quarters to see how it turns out

also: game speed was on Normal with min speed threshold at 50

Guys you need to play games exactly how the sliders are posted don't alternate them. I have every single slider/setting tested completely. I tried it all trust from very slow to fast, thres hold 0,50,100 etc...I even tried varsity,AA then Heisman play exactly whats posted other than having penalties toned down but everything else needs to be played exactly whats shown. And yes you must at least play on 10 minute and up qtrs to get realistic results if u think that's to long of a game then these sliders are not for you.
