What a game was a lot tougher than the score indicates. Maryland really forced me to throw a little more than usual and once again some great animations played out. I decided to incorporate a little more read option in this game to see if it is still to easy. I ran it a total of 13 times for 37 yards really nice to see. The biggest gain on it was 11 on a give inside otherwise it was played well. I did have 41 rushes for 154 yards but my two rotating backs went a combined 28-75. My qb was mr do it all he had 13-79 but most of that came on a 38 yard scramble. Totaled 310 yards himself with the rest of the team having 75.

I feel if Maryland would have stuck with the run game more it would have been a lot closer, there two rbs went for 113 yards. I was playing a lot of nickel and i just couldn't stop it but down 14-3 they ran sparingly. The sack yards ended up being 36 so that tells the story. After the last couple of games I have come to the conclusion that I have to switch my recruiting all around and get some guys in the trenches I have been getting pushed around by the better teams. Besides blitzing I dont get much pressure except with my dt who is the best lineman I have. My back safeties are making way to many tackles which doesn't bode well with the part of the schedule I am about to go up against.
With the 50/50 coaching sliders, I believe speed recruiting isn't needed anymore. You really will have to face the reality of the difference making positions like DL and OL - i.e. the trenches. The CPU just plays more true to their gameplan, that there is no "heisman" boost of aggressiveness either.

Game 1 was at Wisconsin and while the score was only 27-10 at the final whistle, it wasn't as close as that indicates. My QB threw four picks and I couldn't get a single thing going. It was tough to get the ball moving at all, but it felt right getting manhandled like that.

Game 2 was at home against Marshall and boy was this a shootout. It was 14-3 at the end of the first quarter, but heading into the half, it was 24-24, thanks to my defense getting a pick-six and my offense finally getting moving in the passing game. My defense could not stop Marshall at all, in the passing game or the running game when they did run the ball. The final score was 50-44, I think, at the end of Overtime.

It was awesome to have two radically different games, from a dominating game, to a shootout in the Northeast. It's nice to get sliders that give me different games, rather than every game be close like I sometimes would get.
I think that's what I enjoyed about Heisman. Were you using the coaching slider recommendations as well? I've found that it's just a whole other game since doing so - in combo with the gameplay sliders. I wanted to bring a new gameplay that complimented strategy in the game - basically make this year old game reach its max potential - and allow users to have a base to start from.

Yep, the only suck-ish thing about the coaching sliders on my roster is it's on an 8/3 scale, so I can only do 48 or 53, but even still, the game play has been really fun, and I think I saw maybe one screen play the entire game by Marshall, so that was really nice.

As you can see, I got two radically different style of gameplay. One my QB decides to be a good and then bad in another, and the opposing QB, while still accurate, it isn't unfair accurate, because Wisconsin only threw when necessary, so I'm fine with a near perfect accuracy. Just gotta get a HB that's better than the high 60s overall and nobody has speed.

Also, I haven't had a sack problem like I did before, as I've only allowed 3 sacks, and I've only gotten 5 sacks.

Re: NCAA 14 - OS Community + Playmakers Split Sliders

That looks pretty, IC. Yeah, I have noticed as well, with coaching sliders again, is the CPU completes different types of throws down the field. The great thing is they are doing it on 3rd down rather than so much of the screen plays.

I've always been a believer that the CPU uses "ask coach", so the designated plays reflect the aggressive levels. This can be shown by using Ask Coach for the user, and changing aggression to 50/50 - right away I started to see different plays in my playbook; and much less 4-verts ,etc.

Re: NCAA 14 - OS Community + Playmakers Split Sliders

Hey Matt,

Fantastic effort!!! Thank you so much! I'm on an extended vacation and playing week 1 of 2013 with revised sliders.
I also edited all the teams and their running back stamina ratings. The purpose being to get those 2nd and 3rd RB's adequate touches. This website is awesome: http://www.cfbstats.com/. In effect, I've taken the real life 2013 stats and have tweaked the roster set I'm using. Very cool to see LSU get those additional RB's in the game!

In the games I coached (strictly coach mode) LSU beat TCU, 33-18, Auburn lost to Washington St. in an OT thriller, 33-30 and FSU is up 28-0 at the half vs. Pitt.

I've seen plenty of big plays by the wideouts and the animations are amazing!!
I spoke too soon. Pitt hit a 35 yd. TD pass with 37 sec. left in the half. FSU DB tipped the ball and it was caught by Pitt WR for a TD!
Thank you again!!!

Jack

Re: NCAA 14 - OS Community + Playmakers Split Sliders

32Jack, awesome to see another coach mode player. I was using matt10's previous settings on coach mode but I took all of the cpu offensive for both hum/cpu against all the human defensive settings for hum/cpu and my games were coming out great when I was playing on All American. Probably going to start a new dynasty once LSUTIGERS drops his new updated roster. I have 2 questions...what specific settings are you using for coach mode and what number have you dropped the running back stamina ratings down to? Thank you in advance.

Re: NCAA 14 - OS Community + Playmakers Split Sliders

I have a question on the main Heisman set. Why is there a number then another one in ()?

Example:

PI: 15 (100) Is the number 15 or the other. Is the one in () the old number?

Re: NCAA 14 - OS Community + Playmakers Split Sliders

I've had Utah State go for a fake punt twice in the first half. I changed the coaching sliders as well. This is weird because its the first time I've seen this in a long time.

EDIT: To add to that, I've seen 3 screens on 3rd downs as well. I really hope this is an isolated incident.
