Thanks for the updates, man. I think what I've posted above this post for jp is something you should check out too. The defense is back - but not overbearing - and the back are running well. Think we are on to something tonight.
the majority of the games this season I believe were with version 7. the first few games were with older versions from this month.

So far it's been interesting. Upset Boston College, but got killed by Bowling Green. most of the games have been close battle, especially the MAC games as the teams are closely rated, so it has been fun.

I played the last regular season game last night, lost a close one to Ball State. It was back and forth and 2 different halves. 1st half both teams moved the ball fairly easy, both struggle in 2nd half, but Ball State scored late to take the lead and win.

Spoiler

I finished season 2 just like season 1, 6-6(5-3).
Good news is I get to play a Bowl game in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
Bad news, it's against Florida State. Easily the toughest team I've played in this dynasty.

Hey Gamerdad - thanks as always for testing. Glad you are digging Version 7 still. Try out what I have above, I think it will keep the fundamentals of Version 7 intact but also open up, and close, the game where needed.
Matt10..the bold is what you are talking about testing correct? if so i will give em a try tonite. you would think i would have had enough of a football fix by now but building that 1 or 2 star school to a power house champion keeps pulling me back in especially with the slider adjustments you guys are finding to make this game so addicting. My wife is probably wondering if i will stop playing at sometime. LOL! BUT it is almost KO off time a little over a month away. WOO HOO! GBR!!!

Version 7; Coaching Sliders: Def aggr @ 75/25; OPI/DPI 99/75; CPU PBL 45; RBA @ 40/40; CPU RDEF @ 75; TAK @ 30/35

That's what is being tested. I know the feeling man - my wife is super cool though - and it's nice because I'm not at a bar or whatever

Ive been working on this throughout with the same everything in 2 dynasties just different defensive coaching sliders. One with the 50/50 & one with 60/40 down to 80/20. The differences are easy to see once the game is started. For example 50/50 when the defense shows blitz 90% of the time it comes from where its shown. The alignment of the defense also gives it away. The blitz numbers are astounding which really opens up the pass game. 75/25 they still blitz just not 45-55% of the plays but more importantly it is disguised. When you see a lb or safety in the blitz stance you think blitz however one of 2 things happen. 1 earlier its a bluff and what you tried to do to offset it such as hot route is ineffective or 2 they bring a defender from the opposite side and you never see it coming. I have seen as high as 38% of plays being blitzes with teams that have to blitz being out manned. The different defensive alignments also make a difference its not as easy to tell man or zone unless motion is used. I also think it affects coverage they are more cautious about getting beat deal and dont jump routes underneath when they have no business doing so. I know you have looked at this before but it really works nicely with the current set up imo something to look into without having to adjust sliders.
I took jp18's advice and I really like the results. I personally haven't noticed any negative affects of 75/25 on the cpu d. I only notice that passing is harder because they drop more into coverage and only rush 4 more often. I'm interested in seeing this tested more.

You know I'm testing it results are great so far. Seeing a lot of different coverages. CPU offense is playing more aware as well.

Most up to date, changes to tak and RDEF

Version 7; Coaching Sliders: Def aggr @ 75/25; OPI/DPI 99/75; CPU PBL 45; RBA @ 40/40; CPU RDEF @ 75; TAK @ 20/35

At work now, but with these changes, I might suggest changing the coach run/pass ratio for DEFENSE ONLY to 50/50. I think players play more to the down and situation with this setting. I tested this before and liked it, but suspended that tweak as we were still hammering out the sliders.

Going to get a game in here shortly with these changes.

Will do that right away - testing now.
