One thing I saw with the lower OPI/DPI was better pocket awareness. Now, coach mode is a different animal, so this might not work. But the PBK slider is a tricky thing in of itself.

Almost through the 1st quarter and one thing I like is the way the pocket forms. Sacked the QB twice so far, they got to me once. Will post stats later tonight as I'm pretty sure I wont get this done before heading out to dinner...damnt lol

Re: Definitive Coach Mode Sliders NCAA '14 in the making..

I slapped on the sliders changes of 50pbl and 51-50 opi and dpi

Just finished a nail-biter against Nebraska and barely came on top.
Nebraska has one of those most stacked offenses in college football so I was definitely expecting a shoot out. they are rated 93 ovr 99 off 88 def. Was expecting a hard fight.

In the beginning my defense could not hold their offense. But I made a few changes at halftime and managed to hold them to three points in the second half. Late In the 4th qtr I managed to stop them twice in the Redzone on 4th down and got the turnover that sealed the game.

The game was a lot of fun a little sack heavy but I liked the pressure that the QBs were getting.

Good looking game. I just got home and about to resume my WSU game. Its halftime and Falk(Rated 89) is 20/26, 172 yards and 1 TD....however, im leading 17-10. He's been sacked 3 times, Ive been sacked twice. If anything, I'm leaning towards putting PBLK sliders to 55 or 60 after this. The OPI/DPI is still debatable...as my QB(rated 82) is just 9/18 for 126 yards and 1 Int (Which is fine with me).

Re: Definitive Coach Mode Sliders NCAA '14 in the making..

Going to keep this recap short, too tired to do a full box score. After leading 17-10 at the half, things got seriously out of hand. 51-45, WSU won. Falk was 46-66 (69%), 4 TD 1 Int. I really hate air raid offenses. He's been sacked 5 times. My QB is 27-48, 393, 3 TD, 3 Int. Sacked 6 times.

I think I'm going to roll with (for now)...

99/98 OPI/DPI. I think as Josh concluded, the slightest changes can throw everything else a little bit off. And with us playing coach mode and having slight differences in settings, to my eyes, it just seems this gives a bit tighter coverage for whatever reason. I'm going to split the difference on PBLK and set both Hum and CPU at 55 (though im still deciding. Could be 50 or even 60). I like how the pocket arcs like its supposed to and how the QB can't just sit back there scanning the field at will every play. Great suggestion by Josh on this.

One thing to keep in mind there....the sack percentage is actually quite realistic (7.1% for your team vs Falk; and 11.1% vs your QB). Real life stats:

https://www.teamrankings.com/college.../stat/sack-pct

Just keep that in mind before adjusting the PBK slider. The higher you go, the more the QB sits and holds the ball. Also, additive effect of the higher slider value makes 'Robo QB' far more likely.

My biggest issue with 99/98 OPI/DPI is that the coverage isn't as fluid...DBs stop in the middle of routes when they shouldn't. Yes, coverage looks tighter...but the other inherent issue is that it also causes QB completion percentage to spike upwards because they check down a lot more. The 51/50 setting provides more variety in the attack (i.e more risky throws, which drive down completion %). Just remember, the tighter the coverage, the higher the completion %. The trick is to find a setting where the CPU perceives that his guy is "open" so he throws downfield but where the defender (more often that not) has at least a chance to make a play on the ball.

I definitely think your issues with completion percentage are directly related to OPI/DPI and PBK (both OP settings being too high).
