Yea but apparently the reason/excuse for not having dreads is that they didn't make faces or heads separate from the helmets or something like that. If that's the case, that's a lazy design decision IMO.

I want all of the normal things you'd expect to see in a game. Since when did this "we have to scrape and beg for whatever scraps EA gives us" mentality creep into this forum??

Re: Wait..what no Dreads :(

It sort of bothers me that since EA has come to these forums it has changed what people expect in the product. I know that Adam and others seem to be nice people but it should not make you demand much less from the product itself either. I think some people here have bought into the "let's make an excuse for EA because those fellas are overworked and overbudget" argument that some of the devs have put out there a little too much. Some of you guys need to put down the EA Kool-Aid and raise your expectations I believe.

Re: Wait..what no Dreads :(

I think what's happened is the devs being here has personalized the process for some of you. So you don't want to say "I want xxx and there is no excuse for it not being in there" because now instead of attacking EA you're attacking a fellow OS chat buddy with real feelings who is trying his best. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you should be attacking anyone but you should also not be lessening your expectations now that EA has sent some devs here to personalize the process. In fact, now that I think about it, that may be something EA considered and that none of us have really considered as part of the devs showing up here..

Re: Wait..what no Dreads :(

I'm not making up excuses for EA out of sympathy. But Adem, or another EA guy, came on here and said they could get dreads, but they are low on the priorty list. I honestly don't see how hard it is to add them. What makes their player models so different than Madden's?

Having no heads on the players really isn't an excuse in my opinion. The dreads don't even have to come out of the scalp and flow down the back of your head. We just need to see them poking out of the helmet which seems easier to do than make them appear on a whole head.

I am no designer or anything like that. But I would assume making dreads come out the bottom of a helmet would be easier than adding dread to a scalp, making them come down the back of the head, and out of the bottom of the helmet. If they could just get dreads to come out of the bottom of the helmet, then it should be an easy option to add them to a player or not. I would also think once they got the base for them done, we could see variations in dreads and long hair. We could have AJ Hawk's hair, Polomalu's, Fitzgerald, Travis Benjamin's, etc.

Re: Wait..what no Dreads :(

Yeah, that whole 'we have to redesign all of the models' thing doesn't fly with me either. ESPECIALLY since you don't see their entire heads now anyways, why would you have to redesign it all for that? The helmets don't come off when they're hit do they? Nope. So just do what you say canes21, which is also what I suggested, just attach the hair to the end of the back of the helmet and voila, problem solved.

The only real issue that might crop up is if they do change it so players helmets pop off and so they do pre-game warmups, the coin toss etc. But guess what? If they had those in they'd have to redesign the models anyways. So that excuse makes absolutely zero sense.
