Re: How is your dynasty going

In year 1 of my Maryland Terps Dynasty and so far my team is 11-0 and ranked #1 in the polls. I am playing on All-American difficulty and using BYU's slider set.

I go after the best players that are interested unless theres a need I have to fill. But whenever I have a big need I find that theres always lots of recruits at that position interested, probably because of the good playing time rating.

For example.. this year I needed a tight end cause my starter is a senior.
And what do you know.. the #1 ranked prospect is an 82 OVR TE and has my first on his list! I am also targeting a 76 OVR TE for depth and am currently leading.

Season 1, Game 5:

Down go the Yellow Jackets!
In what will go down as the premier upset of the 2013 college football season, Mercer University defeated Georgia Tech 37-10 in what was a dominating performance for the young team. Two huge plays early on, a stout defensive presence and turnover free play were key to sealing the historic victory.

Geogia Tech made a long field goalafter an aggressive opening drive when return man and fourth string CB Perry Avant brought back ensuing kickoff back for a touchdown giving the underdog the lead.

The second big play that gave Mercer their overwhelming momentum came later in the first quarter just after slot receiver JT Palmer was knocked out of the game with a concussion. His replacement, Thomas Dunbar, came in and caught a 53 yard touchdown where he miraculously went over two defenders then shed the tacklers to run into to endzone.

The defense was nothing short of phenomenal holding the Yellow Jackets to 129 yards of total offense. Coordinator Seth Childs had sleepless nights putting together a gameplan for the option attack led by Vad Lee and it paid off dividends. The "Bear Down" defense held the 2nd ranked rushing team in the nation to just 98 yards on the ground. LE John Abernathy had 7 tackles (3 for loss) and ROLB John Tipton recorded 8 tackles (3 for loss) to lead the way.

On offense QB John Russ continued his hot streak going 20-31 for 251 yards and a TD along with rushing for 75 yards on 15 carries and one TD. Russ has solidified himself as the start for the remainder of the season with his consistent and turnover free performances. RB Jabari Scruggs managed to grind out 58 yards on 20 carries and a TD in what was a frustrating night for the sophomore.

Next up the Mercer Bears (4-1, 60 ovr) go on the road to face the Troy Trojans (2-4, 77 ovr). Coach Bobby Lamb will do his best to keep the team focused as his teams plays in the install Sun Belt Conference game.

On a side note:
Played this game last night and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Part of me is excited over such a big victory but on the other hand I feel like it was almost too easy with a 60 overall team going on the road against a 90 overall team.
I am using SECElite's Heisman sliders and have liked them so far. If my dominance of much better competition continues, I will look for a more difficult slider set and as always I'm open to suggestions.

Re: How is your dynasty going

I had a wow moment as my HB Duke Johnson (Miami) best out Manziel for the heisman. The last game before voting, Manziel went 11-16 with 1 TD while Johnson went for 288 yards and 3 TDs.

I only made the Russel Athletics bowl though, always next year I guess.

Wyoming Dynasty Year 8 Week 9, 2020

West Virginia held #3 Wyoming to just 9 first downs. QB #19 Jamaal Williams only completed 8 passes. The Cowboys only converted 3 3rd downs the entire game. However, in the plot twist of the year, Wyoming actually won and it wasn't even close! 49-9 was the final score, a trio of 50+ yard fieldgoals by West Virginia was the only points they had all game. Wyoming normally wins games with their dominant passing attack but this time it was all about the running game. The Cowboys managed 234 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns on the ground.

HB #25 Rodney Hopkins was the star of the game. He rushed just 14 times but totaled 226 rushing yards and 1 TD. It seemed like every time he took a carry there was wide open running lanes. West Virginia's defensive line was simply outmatched by the Cowboys offensive line. The most staggering statistic from the game? Hopkins didn't break a single tackle all game. Not one! But still managed 226 yards. Backup HB #42 Jeff Blanco had 3 carries for 26 yards and 3 TDs.

As mentioned earlier, QB Jamaal Williams only completed 8 passes. 6 of them were to Senior WR #10 Leon Robbins, who had 166 yards and 1 TD including an unbelievable 1 handed catch on an overthrown pass which broke the Wyoming record for career receiving yards. Robbins now owns the record for career receiving yards and touchdowns for Wyoming.

On defense, FS #35 Joe Jacobs was flying all over the field as he racked up 11 tackles, including what was probably the hit of the year.

West Virginia's 6'8 281lb Senior Tight End Thad Harrison caught a slant and was tripped up by OLB #50 AJ Wright. Joe Jacobs came in and absolutely leveled him, sending him into the air and flipping his body sideways. Harrison finished with 10 catches for 82 yards.

CB #29 Isaac Barnes had a pick six early in the game along with 7 tackles. MLB #52 Tim Gibson had another 2 sacks, and Freshman DE #97 George Sims recorded his first career sack. The defense finished with 10 sacks on the day.

West Virginia's QB actually had a heck of a game, completing 32 of 38 passes for 300 yards, but the Mountaineers just couldn't string any big plays together. Senior Kicker Seth Mathews nailed 3 field goals over 50 yards including an amazing 58 yarder. He was the bright spot for West Virginia.

The win moved Wyoming to (7-1) and they remain ranked #2 behind (7-0) Notre Dame, who faces #5 Navy next week in a huge top 5 matchup. Navy is coming into the game with a ton of momentum after embarrassing Ohio State 42-0!

#19 Maryland, fresh off a stunning 38-21 upset of #1 Georgia Tech, showed it wasn't a fluke as they defeated #20 Miami 40-21. The Terrapins are for real! Meanwhile Georgia Tech, who 2 weeks ago looked invincible, lost again to an unranked team, this time Boston College. The Yellow Jackets are now ranked #14 and are out of the national championship picture for now.

Next week Wyoming faces (3-4) Kansas State. I should point out that Week 13 Notre Dame will be playing @ Wyoming. It could be a matchup of #1 vs #2 which would be really exciting. Wyoming's 41 game home win streak could really be tested by the Irish.

Penn State entered today’s game as one of the hottest teams in the nation. The Cardinals were not about to let Penn State walk out of Papa Johns Stadium with a victory. The Cardinals defense struggled throughout the game but a 2nd quarter 99yd kick return by sophomore receiver James Quick seemed to sparked the Louisville sidelines. Louisville and Penn State traded blows but a late 4th quarter 4yd touchdown run by senior tailback Dominique Brown sealed the victory. Brown had a 15yd touchdown run earlier in the 4th quarter where he ran over two would be Penn State tacklers at the 2yd line before falling into the end zone. The win keeps Louisville’s national championship hopes alive, while Penn State will look to rebound next week to continue their amazing season.

Purdue entered today’s game having not won a single game during the 2014-2015 season and they leave today’s game having still not won a single game. The Cardinals were the far superior team all day long. The two headed rushing attack of Brown and Dyer went over 200yds and 4tds today while senior QB Teddy Bridgewater threw 3td passes. Louisville moves into the top 5 with the win while Purdue’s season is a complete waste at this point. The Purdue coaching staff has to feel the seat getting hot with each lose. OC Tony McDaniel has the Louisville offense clicking. The offense is ranked 2nd in points per game, 1st in total yards, and 1st in passing yards per game. Next week Louisville will travel to Illinois for another Big Ten match up that can keep the Cardinals in the top of the conference or a lose could spell trouble for any potential BCS bowl game.
