Well I thought we put up more of a fight then expected. Georgia State never really gave up but are no match for Alabama. Up next we have Troy, hopefully we can clear our heads and play football the right way.

That's the same thing I do with Tulane. I started off w/ the UTSA Roadrunners and had MUCH fun with it. But when I began to recruit easily, win easily, & win the NC in just my 4th year, I began to get bored.

So I do my Tulane dynasty to keep things even. TRUST ME, this one's been a Challenge. At least this dynasty's felt more realistic! 3 years in & I'm still a 1-star school!

PS: I'm about to do a Tulane post right now. Haven't done one in a while.

Re: How is your dynasty going

Sorry I haven't done a post in a while. Been busy with school and all.

So how does a team that outdoes its opponent yardage-wise, gains more first downs than its opponent, and DOMINATES time of possession by 3-fold,...LOSE the game???

Simple, ask Tulane.

The Green Wave drop a 27-22 decision to Southern Miss in the season opener. This year's Battle for the Bell took place in Hattiesburg, MS, and the Wave let MANY opportunities pass them by.

A team CAN'T win a game when they blow TWO 2-pt conversions, miss 2 FG's, and give up a turnover-for-touchdown. In a game where they CLEARLY outplayed their opponent. Coach Willingham was NOT pleased .

At least we return home for the next game. The opponent: #1 LSU. That's right.

Battle for the Victory Bell. Don't expect to win, just hope it's competitive.

Tulane Team Stats:

First Downs: 23
Offensive Yards: 491
Rushing: 59 rush, 361 yds, 3 TD (best rushing effort of Willingham Era)
Passing: 12/16, 130 yds
Turnovers: 1
T.O.P.: 27:39

Players:
QB Tim Ashley: 6/7, 91 yds; 15 rush, 137 yds, TD
QB Devin Powell: 6/9, 39 yds; 7 rush, 1 yd (mostly sacks)

RB Dante' Butler: 17 rush, 125 yds, TD
RB Wendell Goolsby: 13 rush, 67 yds, TD; 3 rec, 16 yds

K Cairo Santos: 1/3 FG (career-worst)

PS: About to play the LSU game RIGHT NOW. Stay tuned!

Re: How is your dynasty going

Starting QB benched in ugly win!!

It was an eventful afternoon in College Park as Maryland beat rival Duke in their season and division opener.
Terps opened the game on fire with two kick return TDs by star receiver/return man Stefon Diggs. They ran out to an 18 point lead after only five minutes, but came down to earth harshly after that. Star QB CJ Brown, who declared for the NFL draft but changed his mind and stayed in Maryland, had an absolutely abysmal second hald. After throwing for a TD and running one in in the first, he threw FIVE interceptions on nine pass attempts. His second half line was 9 attempts, 1 completion for 4 yards and 5 interceptions. Thing got so out of hand, that the coach had to pull Brown out of the game, and sub in freshman QB Mac Horne.
The offense in general struggled quite a lot, the passing offense that is. Run game was as solid as ever with All American running back Brandon Ross burning the Blue Devils defense for 183 yards on the ground.
Three freshmen started at the wide receiver position and it was obvious from the first play that the passing offense was far from coordinated. Many dropped balls, poorly run routes and all around sloppiness almost doomed the Terps.
The defense played poorly yardage wise, but did create five turnovers which proved enough to win the game for coach Daniels' team.

Finally Georgia State got it going on the offensive side of the ball. Ronnie Bell got it going on offense producing most of the yards for the Panthers. Beating a team like this makes me think that this team has potential to beat any team in the Sun Belt. It also makes me know that this team can beat someone besides an FCS opponent which is convincing. Next week we have Texas State who is a beatable ball club. I will not be playing that until tomorrow.
